Rainbow Favourites Blue& Glitter me up Friday.

Hi all!
Sorry i missed yesterday's post on Rainbow favourites. It was supposed to be green. I did do a manicure and took pics but i never got the chance to put them up. I will skip the green one and follow on with today's mani as it ties in with Rainbow Fav's and Glitter me up Friday. I totally thought ahead for this hahaha. I will pop in the green post either tomorrow or at the end. I'm all over the place, i dunno! I can never keep to any plan. hahaha

Anyone, onto today's Rainbow fav's and Glitter me up Friday. Today's colour is Blue!

Sally Hansen Blazing Blue.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Blazing Blue is a dark navy blue with a beautiful sapphire blue shimmer through it. When you can see the shimmer it looks amazing! This was two coats. You may get away with one coat depending on how you apply it. I'm not a big fan of the brush that comes with these bottles, they are so weird and i don't think they work that well for me. No top coat applied.

I then decided it wasn't enough glitter for Glitter me up Friday! haha
I added one coat of Nicole OPI Me + Blue which has small sparse holo glitter and even smaller silver glitter. I think i prefer it without but i wanted to add something. Not my finest work. Again no topcoat. I feel i really rushed myself to come up with something and forgot clean up too! =( Sorry about the weird positioning of my fingers. Those bottles are weird to hold!

Please check out everyone participating in Glitter me up Friday!

Rainbow Favourites - Yellow - Sinful Colors Let's Meet!

Hi everyone!
I have polish number 3 of this week's Rainbow Favourites. I have tried to pick polishes i haven't swatched or tried yet and so far so good. I'm really loving the colours i've chosen so far. =)

Today's colour is Yellow and i have decided to use Sinful Colors Let's Meet. I've had this polish for a while now but never used it, i'm sure i picked it up around 18months ago or so at Chemist King. They were cheap and i wanted to try them. Never got around to trying this colour and i wish that i had. It's one of the best yellows i have used to date.

Let's Meet is a bright sunny yellow packed full of yellow shimmer. It was very easy to apply and i had no trouble at all with it unlike most yellow cremes. This was unfortunately 3 coats and you could still see some VNL. It is a gorgeous colour though so it's acceptable. haha

Rainbow Favourites - Orange - OPI In my back Pocket

Hi all!
Today i have the second colour from the rainbow favourites theme. Today's colour is Orange. I have picked OPI In my back Pocket.

In my back Pocket is a bright orange creme. It's not as bright as pumpkin is but it is close. I originally bought this to do nail art for halloween and such but i really love it like it is and the colour orange has really grown on me in the last 6 months or so. But you won't catch me wearing it more often though haha. No topcoat was added but still had a beautiful shine on it without.

Rainbow Favourites - Red - Revlon Firefox

Garhh! I was supposed to start this yesterday but i totally forgot! I will be a day behind the Aussie girls doing this but i will mix in with the rest of the world due to time zones haha so not to worry.
Today's colour is Red. This is my mani.

Revlon Matte Suede Firefox.

Revlon Firefox is a red creme which has a matte suede finish. I quite like it, it's different to just the plain suede or matte finishes. This was two coats. There is no need for a topcoat if you want to keep that look.

I decided to add one coat of Seche Vite to just my ring finger so you can see what it is like shiny. It's almost a totally different polish with a top coat on. I love this polish in either way it's done. =)

Picture Polish Jade

Hi all!
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend! Mine was pretty good but usually try and drag out having to go to bed on Sunday nights hahaha. Tonight i have for you piCture pOlish's Jade. I made my second PP/ozotic order about one week ago and they turned up a few days later. I got tempted into trying this one first from a few fellow aussie bloggers. This was what i wore all this weekend and absolutely loved it! I'm so glad i ordered it.

Picture polish Jade is jade green with a very subtle silver shimmer. I didn't even know it was a shimmer, i thought it was a cream. The shimmer is very subtle but looks awesome. I love it either way. This was two coats of awesomeness! Awesome formula and easy to work with, it was a little sheer on the first coat but built up by the second. One coat of Seche Vite followed.

See the awesome shimmer!

I received my striping tape i bought off ebay last week and i really wanted to try it out. I thought i would do this quickly before i took Jade off. Not sure what i think of the final design but it turned out ok for a first attempt. The black i used was Ulta3 Black Satin (PRC one coater version)

Hope you enjoyed! Enjoy the last hour of the weekend haha
See you next week =)

Glitter me up Friday - A Funky Dunkey Mad as a Hatter

Hi all!
It's Glitter me up Friday time! It has been a chilly day here in South Australia today! Did i tell you i hate winter? lol I'm sitting here in 5 degree weather with frozen fingers so please excuse any typo's that may arise!

So this is my GMU Friday mani this week.

I used two coats of OPI Funky Dunkey which is a darkish purple cream. A lot darker on the nail than in the bottle. This was the first time i had used this colour. I got this colour in an online order by mistake like a year or two ago and opted to keep/buy it rather than waste more money returning it. It's actually a really nice colour and i love it. The formula was awesome and easy to apply.
I added the hard to find OPI Mad as a Hatter over the top. I tried to do a gradient type thing with the glitter with more at the top and getting less as it goes down but i kinda failed? I don't know! It's not what i had in my head but i think my nails are shorter than needed to how i imagined it would turn out or just "heavy handed" with placing MAAH. Then it was all topped off with one coat of Seche Vite.

Hope you enjoyed this weeks Glitter Friday, pleas check out the other girls participating.

OPI Just Spotted the Lizard

Hi everyone!
So we are well and truly into winter now. Brrrrr! It's been so cold here over night I haven't been up to changing my polish as much. It's been a long time since i have worn a polish for more than two days! haha Apart from the fact it's been cold, I really love this polish more than i thought and i could have worn it for more days but i was getting the itch to take it off.
I won't bore you with lots of talking plus we all know what the polish looks like anyway but here are my swatches.

Just Spotted the Lizard is from the 2012 OPI Spiderman collection. It shifts colours between gold and green. It applied well and it was opaque in two coats with one coat of Seche Vite. JSTL is also a dupe for Chanel Peridot. So you probably don't need both. The OPI is obviously the less expensive option at around $8 if buying from the states or at David Jones here in Australia it's $20. I'm glad OPI did the dupe as the Chanel is definitely out of my price range at around $39.

Hope you enjoy your hump day!
See you soon!

May haulage Part 2

Hi everyone!
I know we are already half way through June now but i have the last half of my haul from May that i have been trying to get up. Some of these are also from the start of June right up until today. Part 1 here if you want to see that too.

Let's get started!

Borghese Stellare Notte, Cover Band Sticks 'n Stones.

I went to chemist warehouse at the start of May and found a tonne of Borghese, which i didn't knew they sold. They had lots of choice there but i didn't like the others and this stood out by far!
I finally got my replacement bottle of SnS from Ninja Polish =D

NYC Charcoal, Essence King of Mints, L'oreal Paris 705

I picked up the NYC at Big W for their normal price of $2. Essence ($2.88) and L'oreal ($5.90)  i found in the clearance bin at Target.

Essence Marble Mania Who is Mr Brown, Raspberry Swirl, Peaches, Silver Twister

I also picked these up at Target from Essence's new collection, Marble Mania.

Orly Galaxy Girl, Glitter Gal holo Black and holo Red, Coastal Scents Nebula and Cosmic, Models Own Purple Blue from the Beetle Juice collection.

I scored these from Carli's blog sale. Very happy with what i got =)

Ozotic Holo's 513, 515, 518, Mish Mash 531, 534

Had to get these before they finally disappear! I have just put in another order for a few more hole's. These were from the piCture pOlish website and are $11 until sold out. So hurry!!

W7 Mars, Venus, Neptune, Jupiter

Green Dazzle, Cosmic Purple, Envy

I picked these up at Chemist Warehouse on the weekend for $2.99 each =) such a score for some beautiful colours.

L'oreal Majestic Green, Mystic Blue, Magic Croisette

I picked these up at Target when they had a sale on. These were 40% off which came to around $4.15 each.

Australis 62238 (no name, it scanned as Emerald City but i don't think thats right hahaha), Essence Nude Glam in Toffee to Go & Cafe ole, Revlon Just tinted in Victorian

Australis i found in the clearance bin at Priceline for $2.99, Essence's where from Target for $2.55 and i found the Revlon at Cheap as Chips ($2 shop) for $5

Ulta3 Original Aus version of Earl Grey and Cocoa Bean

I found these when searching for the Ulta3 Magnetics (which i found) I was so excited by finding cocoa bean. I didn't think i would ever find one =)
I sold my magnetics to a fellow Aussie blogger who couldn't get to them so i need to go back and get some for myself now haha =)

Face of Australia Silver (not sure on actual name as there was a price sticker over the top and it's ripped the name off) Revlon Sweet Nothings in Rendez Blue

I found the FoA at big W for $2 mixed in with the NYC/Ulta3's and the revlon i took a chance with and found it at Gloss.

Finger Paints Flakies Flecked & Motley, NOPI Me + Blue, Sally Hansen Nail Prisms Ruby Diamond & Diamond

I bought these Rachel over at Glam Polish's blog sale =)

Ok! Phew! That was a lot once again! haha. I'm definitely going to try No-Buy July! It got a little out of hand like i said and i didn't stop. My helmer is getting so full now. I need to slow down a bit lol.

See you next time!
Have a great Monday!

Essence Marble Mania collection

I've been meaning to get this post up for about a week or two now and i've had so much going on and wanting to show you all, that this just kept getting pushed back and back. Never fear though, it's here.

When i saw this is Target, a few weeks ago when it came out, i didn't think and just grabbed all four of the polishes. When i got home and actually sat down to look at them and swatch them i realised i didn't really need at least two of them. I only assume these colours work well in a water marble? I haven't tried a water marble yet and i'd love to.

Anyway, here they are.

Peaches.

Peaches is sheer Peachy orange cream. It's very sheer and needed four coats. Formula was ok, not great but i don't think i waited long enough between each coat before applying the next. One coat of SV followed. The last pic is more colour accurate to what i'd expect from the bottle. In the sun it did look a little caramel. I did not like this colour at all.

Silver Twister.

Silver Twister is your basic metallic Silver. The only metallic in the collection. This is a little streaky as you can see. This was two coats and one coat of SV. You could get away with one coat as it's quite pigmented. This also means it's good as a stamping polish and i think that is what i would use it for. I don't think there would be a time where i would actually wear a silver polish on it's own.

Raspberry Swirl.

Raspberry Swirl is a bright raspberry pink cream. I can't for the life of me remember how many coats this was. I know it was at least two, maybe three but not more than that. It applied quite nicely. One coat of SV followed.

Who is Mr Brown (with no question mark, lol)

Who is Mr Brown is a dark chocolate brown cream. This colour is so amazing and definitely my favourite from the collection. But as you all know, i am in love with browns and it is my favourite colour. If i melted down dark chocolate and dipped my fingernails in it, you wouldn't know the difference lol. This was two coats with one coat of SV. Applied beautifully.

Overall, this collection is a bit meh. I love the brown and raspberry colours. I could definitely leave the other two colours. But i actually think there would be possible dupes out there for all of these colours and you wouldn't need them so much. I was thinking that they were slow drying to be able to use them in a water marble but they dried ok, but then i use a fast drying top coat anyway.
I really want to try a water marble out and i think i will try and come up with something using these colours for my first attempt. Not sure how well they all go together though.

Take care! See you soon!

Glitter me up Friday! China Glaze Riveting

Hi all!

Sorry this is a day late again. I just didn't get time to do it yesterday. My nails are also so buggered at the moment so you will see nubbins. =(

This is China Glaze Riveting. It is part of China Glaze's 2012 Capitol Colours (Hunger Games) collection.

China Glaze Riveting is bright orange jelly with an intense gold shimmer. This is an awesome colour which i was in two minds of getting but i'm glad i did. This was two coats and one coat of Seche Vite.
