OMG Nail polish strips review - Sneakers

Hi all!

After two long months, i finally have my iMac back together and working! Yay! That means, i can get back into blogging a bit more, instead of waiting to use my fiancés computer all the time….


Anyway, today i have nail strips to show you. These were sent to me for review from OMG Nail Strips. I picked two designs that they kindly sent me, and today i will be showing you the sneaker ones, and how to apply them.

These come in a packet of 14, so there is a strip to fit all sizes of nails.

It also has all the instructions on the back of the packet. They're pretty straight forward, but super easy to use. These are actually my first nail strips i've ever used loll so this came in handy.

I opened the packet, took them out and began choosing which one would fit each of my nails. I laid them out below from pinky to thumb on my left, then thumb to pinky on my right.

 All the strips have a clear plastic sheet over the top of them to protect them, so you'll need to remove that. Then you just peel the "sticker" off the back of the backing paper.

Line it up as best you can, starting from the cuticle. They are a touch fiddle-y, but they feel like those window stickers that can take off and be reused again lol, so if you have trouble you can peel it off and start again or readjust.

Once you have it in position, smooth it out with your fingers and fold the excess down over the tip. I used a file, and very lightly "buffed" the excess off in the same way i would file my nails.

Repeat for all remaining nails.

I had a few tiny creases in mine that i just could not get out, but putting a coat of fast drying topcoat over the top helped to smooth it out.

Aussie Nails Monday - Food

Hi all!
Things are looking a little different around here. I thought my blog needed a little changing up so i gave it a bit of a makeover. I haven't fully completed what i want to do, so there will be some more changes to it too. Please let me know what you think! =)

Today's Aussie nails Monday theme is food.

I chose Cherries!

Base colour is Ulta3 Pale Dahlia. I used a dotting tool and dotted the red cherries using China Glaze Scarlet. To create the stems, i used a small brush and China Glaze Starboard.

Aussie Nails Monday - Brights - Sponge tape mani

Seriously? Another week has gone by?
Bad blogger! Bad bad blogger i am. I am *hoping* to get some more posts put up this month lol
I have put myself on a "no-buy" this month as well, purely only because i have more un-trieds than trieds *hangs head in shame* The polish keeps rolling in but i have been barely wearing it... or any for that matter. In the last couple of weeks i have only had time, and somewhat motivation, to do my ANM weekly challenges.
That stops today.... well yesterday, as i did today's ANM mani yesterday, AND i actually wore it to work today!! =), but it's all chipped now, so it's coming right off after this goes live and i am promptly going to paint them again!

Anyway, onto todays ANM mani. This weeks theme was Brights. I interpreted that into meaning bright colours. I love neons, they are my favourite type of polish to wear and i used my favourite collection to date which is China Glaze's 2010 Poolside collection.

I mixed a few different types of "nail art" into this weeks design. I used tape and sponging.
I started with a base of Ulta3 Lily white on all nails, waited until it was completely dry then used my tape to tape off random patterns. I then used a damp make-up wedge to sponge on the colours on each nail.

Ring - China Glaze Kiwi Cool-ada

Aussie nails Monday! - Black & White

Hi everyone!
Wow! It's been a week since my last post. How slack am i?
I haven't had much motivation in the last week to do any blogging.... make that doing my nails also. I just haven't had much time, it was Australia Day on Saturday, then my birthday was yesterday and i didn't even do my nails for either event =( I need a swift kick up the backside, because all untrieds are sitting in my helmer draws untouched. It's is also growing pretty rapidly and i need to slow down a bit on the buying. haha who am i kidding!

Anyway, onto this weeks ANM. This weeks theme is Black & White.

I chose a Black & White mixed nails mani. I hadn't done one before and i think it came out ok. Using two colours like Black & White is alot easier. I like what i came up with, especially on a spur of the moment thing. Not sure what i was doing with the bow tie but any who!

Aussie Nails Monday - Skittles!

I sat for ages trying to decide what to do and all i can think of was the lollies/candy skittles.
I absolutely hate skittles. Not sure what it is about them but i don't like them :p
So i did skittle skittles nails haha.

Aussie Nails Monday - Fishtale Braid

Hi everyone!!
Finally back in time to continue of with Aussie Nails Monday. Of course i missed a bunch being away but i came back at the right time...
I've wanted to try the Fishtale braid for a while now. This is my first attempt. I'm mostly happy with how it turned out...... for a first attempt but I still need to perfect it a bit more. I will be definitely be trying this again in the future.

I definitely liked my thumb nail better than my ring finger.

and oh my freakin eyes!! ChG Turned up Turquoise is (and i never say this word)...... amazballs!!!! Why haven't i wore it before! That is definitely going to be used again and probably again!

"This is Halloween" Nail Art Challenge: Witches!

Hi everyone!

First off, i haven't forgotten about my give way. It has ended and i have already drawn three winners. I emailed two of the three yesterday and the other i just got confirmation back on her entry so i will be emailing her tonight. I got a little bit more creative this time, Witches was such a hard challenge to come up with something. I'm pretty happy with how these turned out.

"This is Halloween" Nail Art challenge: Gradient!

Hi everyone!

This was the part of the challenge i was most excited about. Today's nail art is Gradients. I have never done a gradient before so this was my first time. I don't think it was fantastic but i liked what i came up with.

I knew from the start what i wanted to do and i couldn't wait to get to this part of the challenge. haha. 

I got my inspiration from these little guys.... 

Candy Corn!!!

As some of you know, Australia doesn't celebrate Halloween that much. We are slowly getting into it which means we are seeing more and more spooky items and lollies across our shops. I went to Melbourne last weekend and had time made time to head to USAFoods (as we always do when we go to Melbourne) As soon as i walked in i saw a massive shelf with just Candy Corn stuff all over it. I have heard of it many times but never saw it before.

Unfortunately i didn't buy any as i can't eat them at the moment. Boo you braces!! =(  I really would love to know what the tasted like but i wasn't going to buy a whole bag just to try a few. Oh well, there is always next year!

Anyway, if you've made it this far, i guess i'll show you my mani now....

I used a make-up sponge lightly dipped in water to create this.

Yellow - Ulta3 Honolulu

Orange - OPI In My Back Pocket

White - Lily White

 I was happy with how my first attempt came out. I know it's not a true gradient as the colours changed in each line. I wanted the white to be a bit more opaque also. Not a bad try. I definitely want to try this some more =)

"This is Halloween" Challenge: Bats!

Sorry for the lack of posts in between all the halloween posts. I will defintely try and get something else up this week. I have been pushed for time this week as you can tell as it is already 11:30pm haha

Today's challenge nail art is Bats. I was really stumped as to what to do. I didn't really think there was a lot of different ways to do bats, even after looking at all the image plates i have for stamping, the bats were all similar looking. After stamping with those i wasn't happy so i took it all off and decided to start again and try freehand....

This is what i came up with. Pretty simple but cute i think.

 I freehanded the bats using a dotting tool and a small nail art brush and Ulta3 Black satin polish, i'm so glad this black polish is so cheap! I go through so much of it lol I also freehanded the "french tips" as you can tell lol. I did all of this over three coats of OPI In My Back Pocket which is my all time favourite Orange, which i also need to get a back up of!

This is Halloween Nail Art Challenge: Zombies!

Hi all!
Back for another Halloween challenge! Today's nails are Zombies.

I really had no idea on what i was going to do. I did some google searching and looked at everyone else's nails for the challenge and wished i could be as creative as some of the others! Seriously, you should see everyone else's!

Anyway, this is mine. Nothing to exciting, i actually thought these were pretty cute! lol These are probably more like dirty frankensteins lol.

I used Ulta3 Earl Grey as the base colour. 

Black and White as usual was Ulta3 Lily White and Black Satin and for the red i used China Glaze Scarlet, i even mixed in the tiniest amount of black to the red to give it a bit of darkness. Go me and my creativity! One coat of Seche Vite was added!

Hope you like these. I thought they turned out ok. I was pleased to at least come up with something lol

This is Halloween Nail Art Challenge: Jack 'o Lanterns

Hi everyone!
First of all, i just want to welcome the new followers to my blog! I appreciate everyone of you taking the time to look at my blog and to those that comment. =)

Anyway, onto todays nails!
Today's theme was Jack o Lanterns, or Pumpkins if you'd prefer.

This is my effort. lol

I used Ulta3 Black Satin as my black base colour for my index, middle and pinky fingers. I used Ulta3 Crazy as a base colour for my ring finger and stamped it with konad special black polish and Bundle Monster plate BM-224 from the second series. I love love love Ulta3's Crazy. It was actually the first Ulta3 polish i ever bought. If i could find another i'd buy it in a heartbeat. It's a little jelly like and a bit sheer but doesn't turn out too bad with this being three coats.

Excuse the messy clean up, my dodgy looking topcoat application, which i didn't notice until i was uploading photo's and my nubbin index finger. Just when it was getting to a nice length to actually start looking good with the rest of my fingers, it decided to break! Boo!
