Picture Polish Collab-fest 2013!

Hi everyone!

As 2013 is coming to an end, Picture Polish and all the collaboration shade owners have gotten together to organise a little "Colab-Fest"

I can't believe it has been 8 months already, since Ocean was released! I absolutely have enjoyed seeing it on many other digits, both on blogs and IG etc. I always get compliments on this shade, and it makes me happy to know others love Ocean as much as i do! =)
Even since my shade has been released, there has been more awesome blogger collab. shades! I love everyones creativity and i always look forward to seeing whats next!

I've decided to re-swatch my shade, Ocean.

2 thick coats of Ocean. Blue jelly with scattered holo particles, Picture Polish is known for.
Even to this day, i absolutely adore Ocean. I have just about finished a whole bottle.

Ocean, and many other collab shades can be purchased directly from Picture Polish. The ship worldwide! You can also buy from these Network Members which might be easier if you aren't from Australia.

I want to thank all of you who have bought a bottle, shared your Ocean mani or even just given me some awesome feedback. Also a special thanks to Picture Polish themselves, because without them Ocean would not exist. Keep sharing your Ocean mani's!!!

piCture pOlish Blogfest 2013!

Yaaaay, It's that time of year again!

I am back for my second year of blogfest and this one is quite different than previous years.
I got given three shades, and we have to come up with nail art which incorporates all three polishes, as well as doing a tutorial. Now, i am no good at doing tutorials, so sorry in advance!

The three shades i got given were Atomic, Bombshell & Sea Jewel

I decided to go really simple and use striping tape for my mani.
This is the end result.

1) I started off with painting one nail, each a different colour. (You'll see my pinky in the picture is actually blue, but at the last minute i decided to change it to Atomic as it was just too much blue)
2 coats were needed for bombshell and Atomic, and 3 coats for Sea Jewel.

2) Wait for your mani to completely dry before starting on the next stage. I waited about 30 minutes but 10-15 minutes might be enough. I always like to make sure they are completely dry.

3) I cut about 14 pieces of striping tape, long enough to cover the nail and a bit more to pull it off from. I cut them all first and hung them off the side of my work bench until i was ready to use them. Always cut more than you need, it's cheap and it saves having to try and cut it later with wet nails.

4) Place striping tape in the position you desire. It can be a little tricky so have a little patience. Also using tweezers can help position it correctly too.

5) Once you have your tape in place, paint the whole nail with your chosen colour, I used 2 quick coats of bombshell over Atomic on the ring finger.

6) After the second coat, pull the tape off straight away so it doesn't dry into the polish and your design will have crisp lines.

7) Tar dar!! I used my clean up brush and a bit of acetone to clean up my cuticles.
It's best to do one nail at a time as you don't want the tape to dry into the polish and pull the polish up with it when you take it off.

8) Use your favourite fast dry top coat and your done!

I won't bore you with showing each nail i did, as it's the same process for the rest, but here is the finished result. (read: i forgot to take photos of the rest and only realised when editing that this was all i had *has a sad*)

For the thumb, middle and pinky fingers, i used the tape close together like i did in step 4, but in step 5 i painted in between the tape rather than the whole nail, just for something different. You can always use a striping brush and a steady hand to achieve the same look without tape.

I hope you enjoy my blogfest mani! Please check out everyone else that is participating. Links to some below in the inlinkz area. You can also check out Picture polish on the below social media sites where they will be showing everyones mani's.

I had fun with these polishes and i love all three! Two of which i never thought i'd buy but i'm glad i got.

Thank you Picture Polish for letting me be involved!

Shades in the post were provided for review.

Have a great week everyone!!

piCture pOlish Candy + Lynnderella Pentimento

One of my "nail polish goals" for this year was to own a Lynnderella. Even JUST ONE! I've always admired Lynnderella's and never thought i'd actually own any. If your anyone in the nail community, you'd know who Lynnderella was and the widespread talk of her and her brand. Whether you like her or not, she has talent, and well known for coming up with the most amazing polishes! Whether you agree with that or not, that's up to you! =)

Well i got lucky a few months ago when i saw a friend selling two of Lynn's. I snatched them up pretty quick. Not one, but TWO!! I got A Neutral Party and Pentimento. Oh my, that made me lemm for Lynnderella's even more!! haha Since then, i now own 10 Lynn's! =)

Today i am wearing Pentimento over Picture Polish Candy

Picture Polish Candy is a bright barbie pink. The formula was a little tricky but it paid off in the end. It's an absolutely stunning pink! This was three coats.

I then added one very sparse coat of Lynnderella's Pentimento.

I wore this all weekend before taking it off, which is a first for me lol

Do you have any Lynnderella's? Do you like them/hate them?

piCture pOlish - Cosmos!

Hi everyone!!
First of all, I just want to say i have had an overwhelming response to my collaboration shade "Ocean" with piCture pOlish! I have had nothing but great feedback and comments! It has all been positive and can't believe it has done so well so far! So THANK YOU! Thank you to those who have purchased it, who have commented on it, shared my photos, swatched it and just generally shared my excitement!

Because i have had such great response, and my 2 year blogiversary was on launch day, i will be having a giveaway of one bottle of Ocean (amongst other awesome things) in the coming days/week to say "Thank You!" So please keep an eye out for that. I will also announce it on Instagram too if you follow me there as well!

Onto tonights post!
In following the awesomeness of Ocean and to keep in with the Austim Awareness month i have been doing all month now, i decided to wear another pretty piCture pOlish shade...

Cosmos by Pshiiit Boutique!

Cosmos is an awesome dark blue jelly with a scattered holo. The same holo particles used in Ocean and the likes and the 600 series. This is a very awesome colour and is probably my favourite PP shade to date (after ocean of course =P ) This was two coats. It was easy to apply and i didn't actually even put on a top coat. It dried smooth and fairly shiny. The thing i love about these shades too lately is that they are so easy to remove and no foil method is required =)

PiCture POlish Ocean by Kelly's Kolors

Oh Emmm Gee! It's finally time! It couldn't have come on a better day than today, which is also my 2 year blogiversary!!! Yay! I can't believe it's been two years! I never would have thought i'd make it this long, let alone be able to bring you something truly amazing today!!

Alot of you who know piCture pOlish, and have been around the nail community and blogging world for a while, would remember mid last year about Blogfest 2012. I was a super duper lucky blogger who got given two shades to swatch and review. (which can be seen HERE)
Well, shortly after that, i was selected to collaborate with them to come up with a shade with my very own name on it! I couldn't believe my eyes when i read that i had been chosen. Me? Kellyskolors? omg, you serious? was a few things rolling around in my head on the drive home from work after reading the email.

A long 10 months later....... Ocean was born!

I knew exactly what i wanted and what i wanted it to be named when i found out i was selected. So, i chose my favourite colour which is Turquoise. This wasn't the exact colour i had in mind and i was a little disappointed when i first got my shade sample. It was a tad lighter than the colour today and it was quite sheer. I quickly came to the realisation that the colour i wanted (which was a lot lighter than this) would be too sheer because i wanted it to be jelly-ish, but i didn't want it to have to be layered over anything. I made one change to this shade and that was to make it more opaque. I got my second shade sample in the mail and i instantly fell in love with it! It didn't seem like a massive change but with it now being only 2-3 coats instead of 4 (and perhaps 5 if you don't like VNL and it bothered you that much) i was so much happier and realised it was the colour i loved all along.

Ocean has a Turquoise blue jelly base with large scattered holo flake particles to give that awesome holo effect (the same kind that is found in the Ozotic 600 series) The application of Ocean is awesome, which i was worried about as some PP polishes can be a little on the thick side. This was nothing like that. It went on smooth. I use three coats shown today. You can get away with two coats but depending on how thick your application of each coat is, you may get some visible nail line. Three coats will stop that. I then topped it off with a coat of quick dry top coat.
Also, depending on what kind of light your in, it can lean a little Turquoise teal. I was so freakin' excited when i noticed that. It happens in dark low lit lighting. It can be seen somewhat in the second and third pic below.

The two pics below were taken on a different day when there was some actual sun about. This is to show the scattered holo effect in sunlight.

Last shot is just a bit of fun yesterday afternoon in the rain. There was no sun about at all and trying to get some good shots was proving difficult.

So what do you think??

I want to thank the girls at piCture pOlish for making this possible! It was so fun to collaborate with you and come up with something truly awesome!! I can't wait to see what the other collaborators have come up with too!

This shade is available TODAY from the piCture pOlish  website for $12. Network members will have this shade available soon. Please check THIS page for network members in your area
Ocean is a LIMITED EDITION shade.... for now. Please buy a bottle (or 5 lol) and help it to become a core line shade! =)

Please don't forget to check out piCture pOlish's facebook page for more swatches and to check out everyone else's shades!

ANM + AA - Blue Dotticure!

Hi all!

This weeks theme for Aussie nails Monday is Polka Dots!

Again, i wanted to keep in theme with this months Autism Awareness month so again my nails are all blue using only blue polishes.

I really like what i came up with as this was my first dotticure of this type.... not sure what it's "type" is but it's random dots to me lol

I started with three coats of OPI's What's with the Cat-itude from the Shrek collection. This colour is now HTF. I didn't see the hype of this blue (like seriously, it's just blue!!) to start with but i saw it on a blog sale for about $7 so i snatched it up pretty quickly along with Who the shrek are you? thinking maybe one day i'll actually use them and if not someone else will want them. Ohhh Emm Gee!! How wrong was i..... I was applying this this morning and it's beautiful!!! Absolutely stunning! I know i said it was just blue but look at it!! Much better colour on the nails then in the bottle!

I then grabbed my dotting tools and my palate and got dotting away in random areas and using the different sized dotters.
I used Ulta3 Blue Marlin, the dark blue creme
Color Club Over the Moon
Picture Polish Cosmos

What do you think?

Hope you have an awesome week!

piCture pOlish - Glitter Ball

Hi all!
I loved my previous Sally Hansen Red Carpet mani so much i decided to add to it rather than take it off!
I decided to do something a little christmas-y and add some glitter.

I used one coat of Picture Polish's Glitter Ball over the top of the existing SH Red Carpet.

piCture pOlish Blogfest 2012 - Amethyst & Orbit

Hi Everyone!
I am so excited to be a part of this, this year. Last year i missed out because i had only just started blogging. This year i was hoping that they were going to do it again, so as soon as i saw they were asking for bloggers i emailed them straight away. I got two polishes to review, Amethyst and Orbit.

piCture pOlish - Amethyst                         piCture pOlish - Orbit
Guards against intoxication                       The perfect travel partner

Amethyst up first.

Amethyst is part of a collaboration collection which was jointly created by piCture pOlish and Susan from Star Trinkets (their Singapore network member). Amethyst is a dark lavender purple with a subtle blue shimmer and glass flecks - basically a purple version of Denim. Formula was a little on the thick side, as it is with all their polishes, manageable though. This was two coats, no top coat.

Orbit is up next.

Orbit is a dark jelly-like purple packed full of silver micro glitter. It is not a metallic or a foil. This is part of their new "mesh" line. Again, formula was on the thick side but manageable. This was two coats with one coat of Seche Vite.

I decided to not stop there and do some nail art with both polishes. I have been really loving the interlocking design here i showed a few weeks ago, so i decided to do that again with these polishes.

It turned out awesome but the pics don't do it justice and for some reason it was hard to photograph. It was very shimmery and very shiny.

Both these shades, and all the new PP shades will be available from today directly from their website or a network member (please check the website to find out your nearest member). Amethyst is exclusively available from the PP website or Star Trinkets herself (Singapore network member). piCture pOlish also ships overseas from their website, or check out a network member as mentioned above.
If you want to keep updated with the release of each new polish and more swatches, check out piCture pOlish's Facebook page.

Products were sent to me for review

See you tomorrow everyone as i am continuing on into some more Australian polish with The Great Aussie Polish Challenge.
