OPI DS Sapphire!

It's such crappy weather here in South Australia at the moment! It's been hot, humid, rainy, overcast. Basically not really hot SA weather is supposed to be. Sunday was supposed to be fairly hot (around 35deg from memory) so i really felt like treating myself to wearing a holo polish so i put on my very first holo i ever bought, OPI DS Sapphire. I waited for the sun to come out..... no. It didn't want to come out like it came out on Saturday. So i took a few snaps sunless and was hoping even yesterday and this morning showed some sun but again... NO. So here i give you sunless OPI DS Sapphire. Still wasn't too bad but i was hoping to capture more of it's beautiful holo goodness.

OPI DS Sapphire is pale blue with a fantastic linear holo. This was 4 coats. So it's a little on the sheer side i probably could have gotten away with 3 coats but in my head i always think "more coats = more holo" haha. Topped with 1 coat of SV.

Enjoy your Tuesday everyone!
See you next time

BYS scented Peacock!

Today's nails are BYS scented Peacock.

I'm in two minds about this colour. I like the colour but then i think it's kind of boring and similar to a few others i have. OPi Austin-tatious Turquoise comes to mind. Maybe i should have done some stamping over the top. Formula was easy to work with but it is quite sheer. This was 4 coats and i can still see a bit of VNL which i'm not fond of. Topped with one coat of SV.
This is supposedly scented in tropical but i couldn't really smell anything tropical in it. It kind of smelt gross! It smells similar to Revlon Ocean Breeze (which i didn't mind), which smells like talcum powder to me. Peacock isn't as strong but i don't know if that's because i added a coat of Seche Vite. SV doesn't help with the smell either. I'm not good at picking scents but this definitely didn't smell tropical to me at all.

Have a great weekend all!

My collective Haul. *Pic Heavy*

This is a collective haul from a month or two before christmas until... well i guess now. I haven't bought much polish lately. I suppose you could say i'm on a no-buy. I need to save some money at the moment because i'm getting my wisdom teeth out plus my bottom pre-molars because i have an overcrowded bottom jaw. That won't be a fun week. I can't get them done in the chair, i have to go into surgery to get them done. Which makes it the more expensive way to do it too! *sigh* That's basically the prep work, next is braces after that. So i'm really trying to avoid spending which sucks because there are so many good polishes out at the moment that i REALLY want! So no overseas hauling at the moment. Poo! =( I bought all of these right in our own little country. I was really surprised at how well i did. I usually skip polish shopping here and buy online (OPI, China Glaze, Essie..... basically the brands that cost a bomb here in Aus) Onto what i got.....

Finally Picked up all of Ulta3's new collection. Not sure if i'm liking Kiwi Kaos or Mango Mayhem. The others i love.
Terry White Chemist - $2 each

Target all over the county has recently started stocking Essence. I couldn't help myself and went a little crazy.
Essence Vampire's Love Collection. Not into those vampire shows or anything and i assume these have somewhat to do with them but who could resist nail polish in these cool colours.
Target - $3-50 Each

L-R: Gold old Buffy, Into the Dark, True Love, The Dawn is Broken & Hunt Me If You Can.

Essence Colour & Go:
Target - $2-25each.

L-R: 33 Just in Case, 83 Luxury Secrets, 45 Date with the Night, 85 Galactic Black

L-R: 38 Choose Me, 76 Hard to Resist, 77 In Style, 78 Blue Addicted

Essence Sun Club & You Rock:
Target - $3-50 each.

L-R: 01 Pink Heat, 05 Golden Sands, 01 A cut off the Beige.

I haven't tried the scented ones from BYS yet so i thought i'd pick up a couple that were unique to some of the scented ones i already own.
K-mart - $4 each.

I won't name the scents as you can clearly see that.
L-R: Scented Bright Yellow, Scented Pastel Purple, Scented Red, Scented Peacock.

Finally got my hands on the Flakie top coat plus these others at Priceline.
Priceline - $4 for Flip Flops (no idea why but it scanned through at that price, i wasn't going to question haha) $8.95 for the others.

L-R: Flip Flops, Sin City, Aqua, Holo Flakie top coat.

I found these in the Australis clearance bin at Target. They were $2.
Target - Not sure on normal price ($7?)

Limited Edition 01 & Limited Edition 02

Last but not least. I never buy revlon full price. To me, it's just out of my price range for $15 each when i know i can get them cheaper elsewhere online or in the clearance bin. And that's where i got them.
Priceline - $7 each.

So that's my hauling for now. Hope you liked!
See you next time!

2 Blog Awards!

I don't normally get into doing these blog award things and all that jazz. But today i need a bit of blog love. First one i got was the Liebster Blog Award.

Thanks Kelly from Polish Enthusiast for giving me these awards.

The Rules:
1. Link back to the person who gave you this award.
2. Put the award in your post.
3. Choose 5 bloggers under 200 followers to give this award to.
4. Tell them they received the award.

The 5 Bloggers i give this award to are:

Polished Pony
Polished Peripherals
The Cat's Claws
Both Hands Polished
Lab Muffin

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The second award i got was from Kelly again. It is the Kreativ blog award.

Rules:

1. Post the link to who gave you the award.
2. Answer the questions.
3. Share 7 random thoughts about yourself
4. Pass it to 10 blogs and inform them.

1. Favorite song: Somebody that i used to know but not the original gotye version. I'm listening to Walk Off the Earth version lately. That's my favourite song at the moment. It changes constantly. I love old classic rock.

2. Favorite Dessert: Tiramisu

3. What drives you insane: A lot! Especially a lot of drivers on the road who have no clue on how to drive probably tops my list.

4. When I'm mad ... You'll know it and then i go quiet haha

5. Favorite pet: Shelby, my purebred Border Collie who is 18 months old.

6. Black or White? Depends on what for. I prefer to wear black but i love the crisp whiteness of my iMac and iPhone. I wear both colours of nail polish hahaha

7. Biggest Fear: One of them is the fear of the unknown. I want a new job and have been stuck in this job for 7 years now because of this fear i can't get past. The unknown of what lies ahead in a new job, whereas i have become complacent in this job. Hell, i could almost run the small shop but i know this place is going nowhere for me.

8. My daily attitude: Depends! I'm usually fine when i get up but just depends on what my work day is like.

9. What's perfect: Whatever you want it to be! What's perfect to someone may not be for someone else and visa versa.

10. Guilt? Nail polish... Of course!

7 random thoughts:
Urgh! I have to go to work soon.
This is taking me too long to do!
I wish the sun was out shining right now.
I despise Winter and don't want Summer to end.
I have one month today until i go into surgery (to extract my wisdom teeth) and i freak out a little more each day it gets closer.
I need to wash my hair.
This this enough thoughts?

10 People to tag? As much as i'd love to tag people i'd love for anyone to do this and to leave me a link so i can check out theirs!

See you tomorrow with my Collective Haul i've wanted to post!

Finally got them!

Just a quick post today. I finally got my Butter London polishes at the start of the week. I am a member of Brands Exclusive and ordered them through there. Price wasn't too bad but it's the waiting time that really sucks. Because of the way these type of companies work it can take 4-5weeks to get what you ordered and that's exactly what happened to me. I ordered them on the 6th of January and didn't receive them until the 13th of February. Anyway here is what i got:

Tart with a Heart, Bluey, All Hail the Queen.

I did also order The Black Knight but they had trouble getting it from the supplier so that sucks, I was really looking forward to that one.

Hope you all enjoy your weekend! See you soon with another HUGE collective haul from the last few months.

January Glossy box!

Although i have just received my Feb glossy box. I haven't put up the one i got for Jan yet.

This is what i got:

* Nivea Rich Nourishing Body Moisturiser
* Sheer Cover Nourishing Moisturiser with SPF 15
*Kosmea Daily Facial Exfoliant
*Sheer Cover Lip Balm
*Mirenesse Tight Liner Hydra Gel Eyeliner

Sheer Cover - Nourishing Moisturiser with SPF15. (sample size of 30ml, RRP 60ml $29-95)

I have never used Sheer Cover before, this or any of their products. So i tried this and i really don't like it at all. It says it's fast absorbing but it took longer than stated and i hated the "sticky" feeling it left. It also had a strong smell of sunscreen which is not what i want when i use a moisturiser (with or without sunscreen added). I won't be buying this plus i really like the Jurlique one i already use.

Nivea - Rich Nourishing Body Moisturiser (Dry Skin) (sample size 30ml, RRP $5-40 250ml)

We all know Nivea. Not a high end brand but a brand we can buy from the supermarket. On the cheaper side but really i don't care. I like Nivea and use Nivea regularly. I wanted to try this and i'm glad it came in the box. Perfect size for my handbag. Good for elbows and any place that gets dry that we forget to moisturise. Love it. I would buy this when i run out of my usual Nivea body moisturiser (the one in the white bottle)

Kosmea - Daily Facial Exfoliant (sample size 20g) (RRP 125g $39-95)

This is my favourite product from the box. (First sample i have used up fully) I have never heard of this brand before. I love this. It has crushed up rose hips (which we all know rose hip oil is good for the skin) and chamomile flower. It's very gentle on the skin and smells amazing. It's gentle enough to use everyday like stated. I usually use the Jurlique exfoliator and only use it once a week and find it more harsh (sand like) on my skin, where as the Kosmea one is not. I will be switching from Jurlique to Kosmea most likely once i have used up all my jurlique. I also got a few samples from Kosmea to try to see if i like the rest of their products. Very happy with this.

Sheer Cover - Lip Gloss in Pink Praline. (full sized, 2.5g. RRP $19-95)

Haven't tried this at all. Not a big fan of these type of "pot" lip glosses. As previously stated i have a ton of lip glosses opened and like those anyway. I have also heard it's "sticky" which i also don't like so i will be giving this away to someone else. Also seems a bit expensive for a lip gloss.

Mirenesse - Tight Liner Hydra Gel Eyeliner. (full sized, 2g. RRP $29-95)

Also, haven't tried this. Not a fan of Blue eyeliner. I always use black if i wear makeup at that. Also, it is used for "Tight Lining" which i don't do. I didn't even know what it was until now. (I don't know much about make-up, i do the basics) So, again it will go to someone else who could put it to good use.

Overall, There is two things i won't use, one i tried and didn't like and two i love and would use again. Don't love the box, Don't hate the box. Hope you enjoyed.
See you next time!

Valentines Day mani!

Happy Valentines Day. I for one, do not get into it myself. I actually loath this day. Jealousy perhaps? I don't think so, some might think so. It's just not me. Apart from the fact my partner doesn't have one romantic bone in his body, I don't think it should be about one day where you buy your partner a gift to show how much you care/love them. What about the rest of the year? We say we love each other every day. That's what it is about to me. Not gifts and tacky 100% marked up flowers, chocolates and cards. I don't need any of that. I need to diet, save money and my favourite flower is not a rose... It's a tulip! Totally wrong time of the year for those. hahaha.
So even with all that, i still decided to join in the fun of doing a Valentines Day mani.

Really not sure if i love this or not. I like it but not love it. What do you think?
This is what i used to create this:

China Glaze Snow, 3 coats.
Essie Matte about you, 1 coat.
Stamped with China Glaze Ruby Pumps and BM11 on all nails.
Thumb & Middle: Stamped with BM02 and Konad Black polish.
Index: BM09 and Konad Black polish.
Ring: BM03 and Konad Black polish.
Pinky: BM02 and Konad Black polish.

I kept this how it was with the matte top coat over the white and under the stamping. I think it looks nicer. There is nothing over the top of the stamping which i've never done before so hope it works out ok.

Have a lovely Valentines Day everyone! See you next time.

NOTD: A Speck-tacular matte Spring Break!

I finally picked up Australis Speck-tacular a few weeks ago when i was shopping. I found it at priceline and it was the last one they had in stock at that time so i snatched it pretty quick. It cost me $8-95 which was a fair price. They also have a black shatter/crackle polish too which i didn't pick up as i already have OPI's Black shatter and i do not think it is necessary to have more than one black shatter. I have also seen it stocked at Target. I did notice at Myer, Chi Chi have a crystal top coat which looks the same as Speck-tacular. I wonder if it's a dupe. Again i didn't buy it because of that reason.

Anyway, i have been playing around with Speck-tacular on a nail wheel with trying different colours to see what works with it and what doesn't. We all know it looks "specktacular" (haha) over black so i won't be showing that today. It does stand out more over darker colours than lighter colours but that doesn't mean it doesn't look nice still. So after playing around i decided that my favourite at the time was a darker purple.

I started with 2 coats of Ulta3 Spring Break. Then 2 coats of Australis Speck-tacular flakie top coat. No fast drying top coat.

Then i decided to do what anyone else would do. Matte-ify it! I added one coat of Essie Matte about you. I really like how this turned out and am in love with Speck-tacular. I will be picking up another bottle or two soon! I have gone through quite a bit since i got it haha.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone.
See you next time! Kel xo

OPI Warm & Fozzie.

Today's nails are OPI's Warm & Fozzie.

This is only one of the 2 or 3 from the muppets collection that i was interested in. I really like browns and bronze type colours, even if they don't go with my skin tone. But who cares. haha.
It is almost foil like with a little bit of a duo chrome. I found outside it is a brown bronze with pinky red fine glitter, then inside you can see the gold duo chrome come into effect. Very fascinating colour to look at. This was 3 coats so it was a little on the sheerer side.

Have a great day!

December Glossybox!

Hi everyone, I've decided to perhaps do more than just nail polish on my blog. It will still be mainly nail polish but a few different things here and there.

I just recently signed up to GlossyBox. If you haven't heard of Glossy Box, check them out here but basically GlossyBox is Australian and has the same concept as Birchbox (if your international), Lust have it and the likes. Basically you pay $14-95/ month and you get 5 samples (some full sized) of high end products. For example, you can get nail polish and nail care items, skincare, fragrances, haircare, makeup and more. They have only been running for a few months and December was my first box. I know it's late but i still wanted to put this one up before i do January's box.

It arrives in a cardboard box with the GlossyBox logo and website all over it.

Then you open it up and there is another box! (These come in handy as storage boxes haha)

Usually then when you open the lid it comes neatly packed with black tissue paper and some ribbon. You also get a little card tucked in ontop explaining what you got in the box and basically what it's for and how to use it. I try not to read it as i want to see the items first haha. (i'll write under each product what it says on the card)

This is what i got in my GlossyBox. 2 full sized items and 3 sample sized items.

Tigi Harecare - Bed Head Manipulator. (full sized, 57ml, $23-95)
"Great for any length of hair. This best-texturiser adds volume and hold to make hair come alive"
I haven't used this yet. I really want to try it but haven't had a chance yet. It has a nice smell of coconut which i really love.

Clinique - Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturiser. (sample size of 7ml. $90 for 50ml)
"Replace dull skin and surface cells with a healthy radiant glow from this moisturising and revitalising night serum"
I'm really excited to use this. I'm not usually the type of person that buys expensive skin care items like this. I don't own anything Clinique. So this is a good way for me to try it to see if i like it. I may purchase it.

John Frieda - Frizz-ease Secret Weapon Flawless Finishing Creme. (sample size of 30ml, $16-99 for 113g)
"Restore silky softness to your hair with this finishing creme that helps hair imperfections and controls fly-aways for flawless locks"
I use John Frieda Shampoo and Conditioner for Brunettes, so i was excited to try this as i usually have untameable fly-aways all the freakin' time except for when i straighten it haha. I have only used this once so far when i didn't have time to straighten my hair before going out for dinner for my birthday last weekend. Not sure if i like it so far. All the products i use like this always leave my hair feeling a little "crunchy". I don't know if its supposed it and your supposed to leave it alone but i always play with my hair, so it bothers me! haha I will definitely give it another go though!

Carmex - Moisture Plus Lip Balm (Full sized. $8-99 for 2g stick)
"For lips that look and feel moisturised all day long with enhancement from Vitamin E and Aloe, This lip balm with SPF15 protects your precious puckers perfectly"
Looooove this! I love trying a new lip balm. I have about a bagillion different Lips balms and i'm always changing them. I hadn't tried this brand before but now that i have, i would consider purchasing it. It does keep my lips smooth. I would recommend this lip balm.

Auscreen - Sunscreen Lotion (sample size of 15ml. 125ml $7-49)
"Protect your skin from the sun with this non-white, non-greasy sun screen offering 30 times your natural protection and water-resistance"
This little bottle is so cute! It is the perfect size to keep in my car. I know that sounds weird but i commute to and from work, 5 days a week on average, for the last 7 years. Doing this, i do worry about skin cancer, after my grandad has had some skin cancers cut out in previous years. I don't want to get burnt on my "driving arm" and face. Not that i drive with my elbow up on the side of the door like a tool, but the sun hits my right arm every morning on the way to work and afternoon/night (now it's summer) on the way home. So this comes in very handy just to slap a bit on my arms and face for the drive.

So with the December GlossyBox. I would use all the products which is good. I definitely think it is worth the $14-95 a month at the moment.
If you are thinking about joining up, leave me your email address and i can refer you. That would only help me out. If you don't want to that, that is fine too. You can just do it through there website.

Disclaimer: I purchase this each month with my own money. These are my own personal views and opinions.
