LTP Week! Love Thy Polish - Take over the World

Hi everyone!
Welcome to Love Thy Polish week! Lacquer & leather, Lacquer dreams, Pretty in Polish and myself are showcasing the awesome Aussie Indie brand Love Thy Polish!

I will be showing at least one of her polishes per day so stayed tuned for some awesomeness!!

Today i have Take Over the World to show you.
Does that sound familiar? If you remember and loved the TV cartoon show Pinky & the Brain, you'll love this!

Take over the World is part of the recent collection "Animation Celebration" and is available now. Check below to find out where.

Take over the world has a pale pink base with large red hex glitters and small white hex glitters. Application was a synch! This was three coats and one coat of C/N Wicked fast tc. The is opaque enough that it didn't need a base colour, which i thought it might need. There was also no fishing for the red hex glitter.

If your living in Australia, Love Thy Polish can be purchased directly from her website "Love Thy Polish" Most of her polishes are AU$9.50, mini's are AU$6.50 but they are a big 8ml mini. Holo's are AU$12.

If your living outside Australia, her polishes can be purchased from MeiMei's Signatures.

If none of the above suit, please beg and beg your closest vendor to stock Love Thy Polish ;) You won't regret it!

See you tomorrow!!

Born Pretty Store review - Earthquake nails!

Hi everyone!!

I have another product review from Born Pretty Store to show you.

I wanted to get something i had never tried before to do some nail art so i chose these Nail Art Polish Pens. I chose the pink one to use.

At first i really had no idea what to use it for so it sat there on my desk for a while, until recently i came across Earthquake nails! Umm, what an awesome idea and i'd never tried it before.

I used my normal base coat of duri, then painted half my nail blue and the other half black. I alternated the colours on each side with each nail but it really can be done anyway you want. It also doesn't have to be perfect as you are just going over the middle line anyway.

I then used one coat of Seche Vite and let it dry. I'm fairly impatient and knowing that i will be working with a pen, i let it dry overnight and did the rest of the design the next day.

With the lid on the nail polish pen, give it a good shake and let it sit for about 5 minutes to get rid of any air bubbles (learnt this the hard way) When you take the cap off, you'll notice the nail polish pen has a white tip, you need to "pump" the white tip onto some paper towel until the colour starts coming through. Then your ready to start the earthquake design.

Start at the base of the nail where the cuticle is and "zig zag" the pen over the two colours. Try to get the pens' lines as close together as you can, but try not to make it one big messy block like i did in the end. haha
You'll probably need to go back over it a couple times as it can be a little bit sheer, more so on the "tips" of the lines. Then when your happy, let it dry for about 5 minutes then add your quick dry top coat. I was a bit impatient and it shows in my pinky finger where i added my topcoat too soon haha

Nail Art pens can be found on Born Pretty Store website and come in a variety of colours. They retail for $5.99 each which is an absolute bargain when priced up against the likes of the Sally Hansen ones, which in Australia are about $15-$20 each.  I also have a discount code for all my readers to use too, which entitles you to 10% off your total purchase. You can enter "MLL91" in the coupon code section when checking out. Born Pretty ALWAYS have free shipping worldwide on all purchases! =)

Product provided for honest review

What do you think of the Earthquake type nails? Love it or hate it?

AN Monday - Pink!

Hi everyone!

Hope you had an awesome long weekend! I think that was all Aussie's except WA, so i hope you WA's had a good weekend and monday back at work, uni etc.
I was a bit sick all weekend, well actually i have been since Thursday night, and i'm not 100% still but I'm on the mend.
Even though i wasn't well, i did make a trip up to the Riverland here in SA with my partner, his parents and our two dogs. It was a nice day actually and it was good to get out of bed and the house.

Anyway, onto ANM! This weeks theme was "Pink" As i haven't been well, i haven't had much enthusiasm to do my nails and to actually come up with anything =(

I settled for pink with my favourite glitter topper, Sticks 'n Stones!

This is 3 coats of B collection by Bloom Hollywood which is an awesome bright pink. I then followed it by doing one coat of Coverband's Sticks 'n Stones, which has got to be probably my all-time favourite glitter topper! I have used it so much i need a back up - maybe two! haha

Enjoy your week!! Hopefully i can put together another post this week! haha

piCture pOlish Candy + Lynnderella Pentimento

One of my "nail polish goals" for this year was to own a Lynnderella. Even JUST ONE! I've always admired Lynnderella's and never thought i'd actually own any. If your anyone in the nail community, you'd know who Lynnderella was and the widespread talk of her and her brand. Whether you like her or not, she has talent, and well known for coming up with the most amazing polishes! Whether you agree with that or not, that's up to you! =)

Well i got lucky a few months ago when i saw a friend selling two of Lynn's. I snatched them up pretty quick. Not one, but TWO!! I got A Neutral Party and Pentimento. Oh my, that made me lemm for Lynnderella's even more!! haha Since then, i now own 10 Lynn's! =)

Today i am wearing Pentimento over Picture Polish Candy

Picture Polish Candy is a bright barbie pink. The formula was a little tricky but it paid off in the end. It's an absolutely stunning pink! This was three coats.

I then added one very sparse coat of Lynnderella's Pentimento.

I wore this all weekend before taking it off, which is a first for me lol

Do you have any Lynnderella's? Do you like them/hate them?

Ulta3 Spring/Summer Collection: Sunset Pink

Hi all,
Sorry for the lack of posts, i have been quite ill since Tuesday last week and haven't been up to blogging or doing nails at all for that matter. I'm still not 100% but getting there. Anyway, on to nail stuff!
I now have all 8 colours from Ulta3's Spring/Summer collection. I will be showing/reviewing one at a time, hopefully everyday.

First up, Sunset Pink

This is a bright, almost hot, pink cream! This was 3 coats and there were still some VNL. It applied ok. Not sure if anyone else has noticed but since they are now made in China, they have a different brush. They are now white instead of black and i'm not sure if it's just me or because the bottles are a tad smaller that the brush (or cap) is smaller too and more difficult to use. I have fat hands! haha I find they don't glide as well! Could be just me... but oh well. haha

Hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Pink Ribbon Day!

Today is Pink Ribbon Day. So i decided to do something on my nails for it!

The pink i used on all nails is Color Club's scented Yum Gum. It is a light bubblegumish pink almost neon like! Smells...just like bubble gum but not overly sickly bubblegum.
The black base on my ring finger is China Glaze Liquid Leather. And the ribbon CC's Yum gum also and i used a dotting tool for that!

Outside Shade.

Hope you all enjoy your week!

OPI Nice Stems Collection!

I received one of my massive orders yesterday in the mail! So excited for it to arrive and early at that! I wasn't expecting it until Monday at the earliest! In that order, I got the OPI Nice Stems polishes.
At first i didn't want them all but definitely wanted Come to Poppy. The collector in me, was saying "buy them all" even though i would never wear Play the Peonies, and Be a Dahlia Won't You didn't look that unique and might even have a dupe out there somewhere! So i ended up getting the Mini's. Problem solved? Not really, i kinda regret it. I really should have just got a full sized Come to Poppy. Don't get me wrong the others are nice colours too, but i just wouldn't wear them! At least those ones are only mini's i guess. Mini's are also a PITA! They really are just too small which means the brush is too small and kind of a waste, in my honest opinion. Anyway, on to the pics!

L-R: I Lily Love You, Play the Peonies, Come to Poppy, Be a Dahlia Won't You.

Play the Peonies, 3 coats then PTP with 1 coat of I Lily Love You.
Be a Dahlia Won't You, 2 coats then BDWY with 1 coat ILLY
Come to Poppy, 2 coats then CTP with 1 coat ILLY
I Lily Love you, 1 coat then I Lily Love You 3 coats.

Play the Peonies is a very pale pinky pearl colour, it was a little bit streaky which you can see and it also didn't help that i was using the mini brush. Not that fond of this colour and i don't really like I Lily Love you over it. It looks a streaky mess.

Be A Dahlia Won't You is a shimmery fuchsia in a jelly like base. This one has grown on me a lot since owning it but i have colours similar (but not dupes) to this.

Come to Poppy is my absolute favourite! The one i wanted from the start. It is a pink coral with lots of shimmer. I really love this. It could be that i don't have many corals and i was on the hunt for corals but this is a beauty! I think the must have if you were to get just one from the collection!

I Lilly Love You is of course better used as a layering top coat. It has flakes not quite holo, rainbow glitter of different shapes and sizes all suspended in a sheer pink jelly.

Blurred close up of I Lily Love You.

Hope you all enjoy your Thursday! Bye for now!

Funky Smelling Tiger!

I am loving this quick mani i did last night before i went to bed!

Outside, Flash

I used Color Club Scented polish in Raspberry Rush! I loooove this colour! It's an amazing deep, bright pink not quite neon. These photos don't do it justice! It also smells amazing! It's a little sweet but not sickly sweet! It smells a bit like Gummy Bears!

Inside, no Flash

I then used a striper polish i bought from one of the cheap $2 type shops (although it cost me $6, so wasn't that cheap but i just had to have it! You'll see why) to do the "Tiger" type lines. Not great but pretty good. It does actually look better IRL and i could have really gone over them a second time for the photos but i didn't want to stuff it up! The striper polish used was from the brand Jordana and the colour is called "the artist" It has a silver and holo glitter suspended in a black base! Love love love it!

 Outside, in sun

Outside, Shade

Enjoy the rest of your day!
