Easter Mani #3: Pastels, Dots & a Bunny!

I have redeemed myself... to myself for yesterdays mani. After putting it up yesterday i felt bad because i hated it in the end. When i did it i thought it was ok but the longer i wore it the more i hated it. So i took it off last night and decided to do a mani to make up for it. I also forgot to mention yesterday that the whole thing was matte-ified with Essie's Matte about you.
Anyway, onto today's mani!

I am extremely happy with how they turned out. Love 'em! I was going to re-create yesterdays mani too but after i did this i couldn't bare take it off in a hurry! =)

Colours i used Thumb - Pinky:
Orly Gumdrop (one of my fav pastels ever)
Orly Lollipop
Orly Lemonade
Orly Snowcone (blue underneath rabbit)
Orly Cotton Candy
All dots done with a dotting tool and Ulta3 Lily White
Rabbit done with Orly Lollipop, Nose done with Orly Cotton Candy, Eyes done with Ulta3 Black Satin and Lily White (also inner fuzzy ear bits)
All topped off with SV quick dry top coat.

Hope you love these as much as i do! =)
See you next time! xo

March Haul: Embarrassingly heavy pics!

Hi guys,
This is my Monthly haul for March! It is embarrassing (but freakin' awesome!) the amount i have accumulated over this past month!   Hopefully i can hold out buying much in April... Although i did just buy my first lot of A England polishes last night! I got 4 which you won't see until the next haul post =P

I ducked into Terry White Chemist at the start of the month to see if the new Ulta3 Metallics were in but they didn't have any! (and still hadn't though out the month and also now) but i did find these in a little basket at the checkout on clearance.

Jumpin' Jade $8, Blazing Blue $8, Maybelline Ridge filler $2!!

Then while in the same trip i strolled down to Kmart and they had Rimmel London on special for $4 off their entire cosmetics range! (Also while i was at Kmart i checked out their Sally Hansen stand and found the same Blazing Blue i had just purchased at TW only minutes before, for a mere $4!! Peeved much!)

Green with Envy $4, Mocha Fever $2, Azure $2

As most of you know i went to the Grand Prix earlier this month! It was awesome by the way! On the Monday before heading home we had a little bit of time to do some shopping. I knew Priceline had Orly's for $4.99 each and i couldn't find any at my local one before heading to Melbourne, so i had a look at a Priceline over there and found these 4 beauties. These are apparently old stock. The 30th Anniversary one is from 2005 and the others around the 2009 era! You could tell that these were old stock and had probably been sitting on a shelf in storage for many years. The few Pricelines i checked after this were all the same! They are still good though... They just need a little shake and they are good as new.

Fifty-Four (30th Anniversary Ed. came with a "30" keyring), Sugar, Walk down the Aisle, Vanguard Violet.

While i was at the same Priceline at Chadstone in Melbourne i spotted the Face of Australia Barbados collection. They were on special for $3.96 instead of $4.95. I picked up 4 (plus the Orly's) and headed for the checkout. 10 minutes later i went back for the other 4! haha

You blue me away, Calypso - Gold, Orange you glad you came?, Another Daiquiri Please.

Bright Lights.. Pink city, Let's go Scuba Diving, I like to Mauve it, Party at the Gap.

Then i went to Oz Nail and Beauty Supply in Braybrook (where i always have to go when i head to Melbourne) and picked up these Beauties!

Layla Magneffect Magnetics in 04 Turquoise Wave, 12 Black Metal. These were $12 each which was cheap for Layla magnetics.

China glaze White cap $6 and 2NITE $8, Orly Androgynie $8

These from the China Glaze hunger Games collection:
Riveting, Foie Gras, Stone cold, Electrify. All $6

These from the China Glaze Eye Candy collection:
Marry a Millionaire, Love Marilyn, Some like it Haute. All $8

China Glaze Magnetix collection:
You move me, Attraction. These were expensive at $12 which i didn't know until at the checkout but got them anyway!

And their Magnet.

Then i thought that was enough for the month, i had spent enough....... *gulps*
I went to Target to waste some time before starting work last Monday and got these at 25% off plus i had a $20 gift card to use.

Revlon Matte Suede in Ruby Ribbon, Radiant, Scandalous (aka Facets of Fushia) and Popular (aka Starry Pink)

So not being able to pick up the Ulta3 Metallics at Terry White, i emailed the Heat group and they sent me a list of chemists that had ordered in the new collection. Only three in Adelaide had, 2 in the Central Markets and 1 at Bridgewater. So even though Bridgewater is closer to me, i was heading to the Adelaide Central Markets anyway, so i picked these up only yesterday!

Copper, Burnt Orange, Shiraz, Pinot

Antique Gold, Cocoa, Jade, Enchanted.

So that was it! haha Hope you liked seeing what i got this month. Do you have any of these polishes? Which is your favourite?

See you next time

I'm still not over....

Crackle polishes! Well.... I'm not into them as much as when they first came out but i am definitely not over them yet!
I went to V8 Supercars (Clipsal 500) here in Adelaide over the weekend. As a lot of you know i'm a car freak and love Fords! I came up with this really quick mani i did on the friday night before and wore it all weekend and Monday too!

Left hand - outside shade

I used 3 coats of Orly Royal Navy (unshaken) which is almost the perfect Ford blue (again, when it's unshaken with all the sparkly bits sitting at the bottom of the bottle) I waited for it to completely dry then added one coat of China Glaze Lightning Bolt. Topped with one coat of SV.
I'm really happy with how it turned out and i love just watching how and where it cracks and when there are big bits of the underneath colour showing through. It's just so fascinating to me.

Right Hand - Artificial Light

Do you still like the crackle/shatter effect or are you over it?

See you soon! xo

Happy Birthday to........ ME!

It's my birthday today! I don't know if i should be excited, because my fiancé did get me some awesome pressies... or sad, the fact that i'm now *gulp* 26! I know that may seem young to some of you but time has definitely flown by these last 8-10 years. wow! I remember when i was finally 18! now 8 years later, I'm wanting it to slow down.. even just a little bit.

Anyway, onto my mani for today.
I had a different mani in mind this morning but as i was doing this, only 45mins before i was supposed to leave for work, my mum rang half way through to wish me a Happy Birthday! (she lives in a different state). So i didn't get time to do what i had intended so i ended up with this:

Sorry, i know it's very simple but as i said, i just ran out of time. I do like this though.
Base was 2 coats of Orly Gumdrop. 1 coat of Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday. Topped off with 1 coat of Seche Vite quick dry.

Hope you enjoy! See you soon!

25 Days of Christmas! Day 12. Festive fingers!

Hi all.
Tonight i have probably one of my favourite christmas mani's ever. I actually came up with this last year (possibly even the year before) but i never had my blog back then and i wanted to show you all some more stamping. What you see now is today's photo, not last years photo.

I used:
Thumb: China Glaze Ruby Pumps tips. Stamped Candy Cane from Konad plate M12. Snowflake stamped from Konad plate M59. Both stamped in Konad special White polish.
Index: Ulta3 Precious tips. Bells stamped from Konad plate M12 in special Red polish.
Middle: China Glaze Emerald Sparkle tips. Candy Cane from Konad plate M12 in Konad special White polish.
Ring: Ulta3 Lily White with 2 coats of Orly Winter Wonderland on tips. "Merry Christmas" stamped with Konad plate M12 and Red special polish.
Pinky: China Glaze Ruby Pumps tips. Candy Cane from Konad plate M12 with Konad special White polish.
All topped with Seche Vite Quick Dry.

I actually liked my right hand better than my left which is weird. I just think it looks nicer, neater and placement of the stamping is better. I think i always rush with my left hand and take more time with my right hand, so that's why this time it looks better.... I don't know haha.
Tell me what you think??
Hope you enjoy these as much as i do!
Bye for now! xo

25 Days of Christmas! Day 11. Simple snowflakes!

I am almost getting to the point now where i start doubling up on Christmas manicures as i've run out on things to do. I will have some variations to ones I've already done plus a few new ones i haven't done yet. I'm going to do a bit more stamping this week i think. In saying that though, today's mani is a simple  freehand design to differentiate to this one.

Colours i used:
Base colour: Orly Snowcone
Snowflakes: LA colors White striper
Dots on snowflakes and snow dots: Ulta3 Lily White + dotting tool.
I think this looks ok by itself but if you want a bit of sparkle, you could add a fine holo glitter top coat.

I used China Glaze's Golden Enchantment. Then a coat of Seche Vite.

Hope you enjoy!

25 Days of Christmas! Day 7. Anti-racist Gingerbread!

hahaha at the title! Today, i bring you gingerbread men! Not sure if i should call this a fail or not. While it kind of didn't look how i wanted/expected it too, it came out... ok. I mean they look like gingerbread so i guess that is a plus. I wanted them..... more cute! hahaha.

They look like they got put in the oven and got left longer than they should have! haha. I don't have a brown lighter than this. I just have never gotten around to getting a lighter brown or even a tan colour. Must put it on my wish list now. So for now i give you "Burnt Gingerbread Man"

Colours i used:
Base colour: Orly Snowcone
Gingerbread man: Essie Hot coco
Eyes, Mouth: Ulta3 Black Satin
Buttons: China Glaze Emerald Sparkle
White icing bits: LA Colors Art Deco Striper
Bow that i turned into a scarf: Fraulein striper in Red (some highly toxic, stinky polish)

Hope you all enjoy!

Easter Nails & BM competition nails.

(sorry in advance for a longish post)

I hope everyone had a great Easter! Mine was quiet nice! Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow after a nice 5 (yes, that's right, 5!) days off. Us lucky Australians get another day off because ANZAC Day falls on another public holiday. These were my Nails i wore over easter. I have different ones on now but will post that up in a few days. =)

Sorry pics look a bit crappy they were taken on my iPhone. I am really crap at taking photos. I hope i get the hang of it soon. Anyway pinky to Thumb: Orly Lemonade, ChGLiquid Leather for background and eyes, Orly Lollipop for bunny, ChG snow for inside ears and pupils & Orly Siren for nose. Orly Snowcone for middle finger, Orly Pixy Stix & Orly Gumdrop. These were all two coats. I had a bit of trouble with mine, opacity wasn't the problem though. If your clever you could get away with one coat .(which means these would be great for stamping! yay!)

I also entered the Bundle Monster competition they had going a week or two ago. I didn't win which was fine as it's a popularity contest really. I don't have that many friends and alot of people that won have blogs etc. But that's the rules and i'm happy for whoever won as they all, and everyone did a great job. Anyway here was my entry:

I am a big fan of The Beatles.
Thumb, Index, Ring and Pinky all China Glaze Liquid Leather
Index, Ring and Pinky all stamped with Konad Special White polish with BM Plates 07, 20, 09.
Thumb- "the beatle" (yes i couldn't fit the "s" on lol) China Glaze Snow
Middle Finger - China Glaze Scarlet & China Glaze Happy Go Lucky

Enjoy the rest of your Easter long weekend!
