Holo Shatter franken - Shattered Meteorite!

Hi all!
I had a totally different post in mind for today but i decided to change it at the last minute. As i sat down to read everyones blogs i came across a fellow Aussie blog i have been following since she started up,  Osiris and Loki paint their nails. I was inspired by her post today on a holo shatter. She came up with the point that no one had ever made one. As soon as i saw her awesome holo shatter polish i knew i had to try it myself. This is my attempt and i'm very happy with how it turned out.

I have named this Shattered Meteorite!

What i used:
OPI Black Shatter (or any black shatter will do)
Spectra Flair
Empty polish bottle (i used a 3.75ml empty seche vite bottle)

I poured the Black Shatter into the empty bottle almost to the top then added 2 small (and i mean small) scoops of spectra flair and then shake, shake, shake!

I put this over two coats of Ulta3 Lily White. I topped it all off with one coat of Seche Vite.
Enjoy the rest of the photos!

Hope you all liked! I am going to try and make another holo shatter in a different colour.

Please check out osirisandlokipainttheirnails's Silver holo shatter.

See you next time!

I'm still not over....

Crackle polishes! Well.... I'm not into them as much as when they first came out but i am definitely not over them yet!
I went to V8 Supercars (Clipsal 500) here in Adelaide over the weekend. As a lot of you know i'm a car freak and love Fords! I came up with this really quick mani i did on the friday night before and wore it all weekend and Monday too!

Left hand - outside shade

I used 3 coats of Orly Royal Navy (unshaken) which is almost the perfect Ford blue (again, when it's unshaken with all the sparkly bits sitting at the bottom of the bottle) I waited for it to completely dry then added one coat of China Glaze Lightning Bolt. Topped with one coat of SV.
I'm really happy with how it turned out and i love just watching how and where it cracks and when there are big bits of the underneath colour showing through. It's just so fascinating to me.

Right Hand - Artificial Light

Do you still like the crackle/shatter effect or are you over it?

See you soon! xo

Shattered Turquoise!

I finally got hold of the Essie Resort 2010 Collection. This is the first one i'll show from the collection. I'm sure you've all seen them on other blogs etc seeing as it IS the 2010 collection haha but i don't care, this is my blog! haha.

This is Essie's Turquoise & Caicos. This is my first Essie and i love it! It applied well. This was 3 Coats.

After wearing this yesterday, I added Silver Shatter last night before going to bed.

I personally love the shatters and i am not over them yet. I just received my blue & Turquoise shatter and am yet to play around with them. I also want the China Glaze Metal shatters too but am yet to own any.
What do you think of the shatters? Do you own any? Whats your favourite combination?

Bye for now

Massive haul! (pic heavy)

I got these from an eBay seller that doesn't really sell a lot on eBay anymore. I just emailed them my wish list and they tell me out of that, what is in stock and what isn't. I then send my final list to them and they sent me a PayPal invoice. Pretty easy! The polishes are a little bit dearer than the likes of nailetc and some other ebay sellers but you do get FREE, FAST worldwide shipping! Well, as long as you buy 10 or more polishes. One (out of 27) did break in transit so they sent out a new one straight away.  It took just over one week to get to me and one week exactly to get the replacement bottle. It was the first time i bought from them and i'm definitely happy and i would buy from them again! Anyway, on to the polishes!
I had a crappy time trying to photograph these polishes, i have no photography skills whatsoever! and a crappy camera, in fact, in the end these were taken on my iPhone, along with taking these when the sun was going down! So sorry in advance!

Gargantuan Green Grape, You Don't Know Jacques, Teal The Cows Come Home.

Turquoise Shatter, Blue Shatter.

Play the Peonies, Be A Dahlia Won't You, Come To Poppy, I Lily Love You
OPI Nice Stems mini's.

I eat Mainly Lobster
This is the only one i really wanted from the Touring America collection.

OPI DS Extravagance, Illuminate

The One That Got Away, Last Friday Night, Teenage Dream
All from Katy Perry collection. I really dislike the other one.

Skyscraper, CG in the City, Midtown Magic, trendsetter, Street Chic
All from the China Glaze Metro Collection.

Fault Line (crackle), Moulin Rouge

Your Hut or mine (resort 2011), Hot coco (winter 2010)

Zoya Caitlin

Wow, that was all of them! I haven't had much of a play around with them yet but i can't wait to use them! I'm also still waiting on more polishes to come. Yes, more! haha
If anyone wants details on the eBay seller just sent me an email. Also, just letting you all know, I bought these with my own money and i am not affiliated with this company. I just wanted to let you all in on this awesome seller and i'll be buying from them again in the future.

Enjoy the rest of your day,
Bye for now! xo

Arggh! me hearties, here be treasure!

I finally got my hands on the OPI - Pirates of the Caribbean Collection. I know you've seen swatches on many other blogs but i just felt like doing it myself!

L to R- Skull & Glossbones, Stranger Tides, Steady as she Rose,
Sparrow me the drama, Planks a lot, Mermaids Tears & Silver Shatter.

No. 1- Skull & Glossbones - Pale grey creme, A bit splotchy to start with but evened out in the end. 3 Coats, No Topcoat. Then with Silver Shatter, also no Topcoat.

No. 2- Stranger Tides - A murky greyish-green creme. Again a bit splotchy then evened itself out. 3 Coats, No Topcoat. Then with Silver Shatter, also no Topcoat.

Sorry this ones a bit blurry!
No. 3 - Steady as she Rose - A very pale lavender pink creme. Its more lavender than pink IRL than what the picture is showing. 3 Coats, No Topcoat. Then with Silver Shatter, also no Topcoat.

No. 4 - Sparrow me the drama - A dusty Pink creme. Not as bright as what the pic is showing. I'm sure this was 2 Coats, No Topcoat. Then with Silver Shatter, also no Topcoat.

No.5 - Planks a lot - A darkish Lavender creme. Pretty straight forward! 2 Coats, No Topcoat. Then Silver Shatter, also no Topcoat.

No.6 - Mermaids Tears - My favourite of them all and the colour i was going to get from the collection, no matter what! A dusty Turquoise creme. 2 Coats, No Topcoat. Then Silver Shatter, also no Topcoat.

My definite favourites are Sparrow me the drama, Planks a lot, Mermaids Tears and of course the Silver Shatter!
Do you have the collection? Which is your favourite?
Enjoy your week!
