Oranges!

Hi everyone!
So i haven't blogged in two weeks! haha No real reason why but i just didn't have the motivation to blog. I have still be doing my nails, not as much as usual, but if you follow my instagram you would have seen them, or most of them..
Anyway, i am back and i have a lot of pics just sitting in my "to be blogged" folder. Yes, alot of them are old and i don't just want to blog one after the other. I also can't bear to put them in the trash either. So i will be blogging in colours for a little while lol

Today's colour is Orange!

These are the mani's i have done recently that are orange.

Ulta3 Orange Blossom. Pale orange crelly. This was 3 coats. I absolutely hated this colour on me. It's a nice colour though.

Essence Doc. Vibrant orange creme. Two coats. Not as neon as it looks in the pics. Beautiful to apply.

Essence Prince Charming topper over Essence Doc. Blue hex with small silver glitter. One coat.

Essence Boho Chic. Peach creme with orange-y gold flakes. Two coats. Very unique colour but i don't like it against my skin tone.

Julie G Gumdrops in Tangerine Dream. My very first Liquid sands/textured polish. I got the whole collex. This was the first one i tried. I love it and i am craving more liquid sand/texture polishes. I haven't been fortunate enough to buy more yet but hopefully in a few weeks i can. =) This was two coats. I love love love this colour and it screams summer to me. It winter here at the moment which sucks, and you all know how much i hate winter lol. I will definitely be pulling this one out of the draw again when summer comes around.

Have a great day!

Cate Ruby Silver mesh - review

Hi everyone!

Today is the last day of blue mani's for Autism Awareness! I joined my last Autism blue mani in with a review polishes from Cate Ruby.
I got two awesome polishes from Cate Ruby to show you guys, but today i will be just showing you one - Silver Mesh.

How cute are is the bling around the neck?? It's an actual piece of jewellery but my stumpy fingers are too fat! It is stretchy but then it doesn't look nice. I think it can stay on the bottle lol

Silver Mesh is absolutely stunning! It's a polish that is meant to be layered over another colour. The glitter is was too sparse to be able to build up to anything that resembles opaque. The formula is awesome. Not too thin and not thick at all. This was one very thin coat, followed by two thin "dabbled" coats to give it a nice look.

I layered Silver Mesh over Essence Hard to Resist.

How gorgeous are both of these together?!?!

Keep an eye out for my second review polish from Cate Ruby soon!

You can keep up to date with her on Facebook
Or
Find a stockist near you!

Cate Ruby polish provided for honest review.

Autism Awareness mani # lost count! Essence Grumpy!

Hi everyone!!
Just a quick one tonight.

I did this mani a couple of weeks ago when Autism month first started and have only now gotten around to blogging it now.

Essence Grumpy is a gorgeous dark blue. Application was awesome and applied in two easy coats. It was released in the Essence Snow White collection that Australia got at the beginning of December last year so it's pretty hard to find now. It is also know as a cheaper version of Nails Inc Baker Street.

Essie Lights + Essence Party Princess!

After wearing Essie Lights for a couple of days, i decided to jazz it up a little. I didn't have time to do anything special or some stamping so i grabbed my Essence Party Princess from my untrieds and slapped it on.

This was one coat of sparkly awesomeness!!

World Diabetes Day mani - Essence It's Two Bright

Hi all!
Today is world Diabetes Day. This is the mani i wore.

This is Essence It's Two Bright

Nothing too exciting just a simple blue mani. A bright blue with a  jelly like finish. This was two coats and you can still see a tiny bit of VNL. Not so apparent in real life.

I then added the other end of the stick, the yellow/pink duochrome sparkly top coat. This was two coats but i wish i had just left it to one coat, it looked so much better!

Essence Marble Mania collection

I've been meaning to get this post up for about a week or two now and i've had so much going on and wanting to show you all, that this just kept getting pushed back and back. Never fear though, it's here.

When i saw this is Target, a few weeks ago when it came out, i didn't think and just grabbed all four of the polishes. When i got home and actually sat down to look at them and swatch them i realised i didn't really need at least two of them. I only assume these colours work well in a water marble? I haven't tried a water marble yet and i'd love to.

Anyway, here they are.

Peaches.

Peaches is sheer Peachy orange cream. It's very sheer and needed four coats. Formula was ok, not great but i don't think i waited long enough between each coat before applying the next. One coat of SV followed. The last pic is more colour accurate to what i'd expect from the bottle. In the sun it did look a little caramel. I did not like this colour at all.

Silver Twister.

Silver Twister is your basic metallic Silver. The only metallic in the collection. This is a little streaky as you can see. This was two coats and one coat of SV. You could get away with one coat as it's quite pigmented. This also means it's good as a stamping polish and i think that is what i would use it for. I don't think there would be a time where i would actually wear a silver polish on it's own.

Raspberry Swirl.

Raspberry Swirl is a bright raspberry pink cream. I can't for the life of me remember how many coats this was. I know it was at least two, maybe three but not more than that. It applied quite nicely. One coat of SV followed.

Who is Mr Brown (with no question mark, lol)

Who is Mr Brown is a dark chocolate brown cream. This colour is so amazing and definitely my favourite from the collection. But as you all know, i am in love with browns and it is my favourite colour. If i melted down dark chocolate and dipped my fingernails in it, you wouldn't know the difference lol. This was two coats with one coat of SV. Applied beautifully.

Overall, this collection is a bit meh. I love the brown and raspberry colours. I could definitely leave the other two colours. But i actually think there would be possible dupes out there for all of these colours and you wouldn't need them so much. I was thinking that they were slow drying to be able to use them in a water marble but they dried ok, but then i use a fast drying top coat anyway.
I really want to try a water marble out and i think i will try and come up with something using these colours for my first attempt. Not sure how well they all go together though.

Take care! See you soon!

Essence Ballerina Backstage collection

I know this is old news for most of you (even to an extent here in Australia as they almost ready for a new collection) but i thought it was better late than never for these swatches. I only got 3 out of the 5 colours for this collection. I wasn't interested in the purple or pinky red coral. Corals don't suit me and i am not a massive purple fan.

Please excuse my index and middle fingers. I'm trying to see if shaping them this way will help grow them before they get to that certain point and break. I've always had trouble with those two fingers...... But i really love the square look! Let me know which you like better.

Onto the swatches......

Dance the Swan Lake:
One coat - Shade

 One coat - Sunlight

Three coats - Shade

Three coats - Sunlight

Dance the Swan Lake is a sheer pale white with a flash of a pinky-red shimmer, which is more noticeable in the bottle than on the nail. As you can see, even with three coats it's still a bit sheer and you can see some visible nail line but probably sheer enough if you going for that "delicate" look. It looks quite nice at any amount of coats. No top coat.

Wear Your Little Tutu:
Three coats - Shade

Three coats - Sunlight

Wear Your Little Tutu is similar to DTSL but in pink. It still has that same colour flash of shimmer in it but isn't as noticeable being in a similar coloured base and again it's more noticeable in the bottle than on the nail. I didn't think it looked as nice with only one coat as DTSL did. This was three coats, no topcoat.

Grand-Plie in Black:
Two coats - Shade

Two coats - Sunlight

Grand-Plie in Black is pretty straight forward. It's a black base with small copper-y orange glitter. I like how it's fairly sparse. This was two coats. It's fairly pigmented in the fact you could almost get away with one coat but i found there were one or two baldish spots and thought two coats were better for photos. No topcoat.

Overall, these three from the collection are nice. I really like Dance the Swan Lake and Grand-Plie in Black. I could leave Wear Your Little Tutu though as i didn't think it looked that nice on me. Formula was good, probably a tad runny in the sheerer ones but was manageable.

See you all next time!

Essence Colour & Go - 77 In Style

Hi all! Just a quick one tonight, i'm about to sit down and change my nails while watching the F1 Monaco Grand Prix!
These are the nails i wore this weekend - Essence In Style from the colour and go range.

In Style is a deep dark teal. This was two coats. One the first coat you could see it had a dark purple black base but was lost in the second coat. I want to say it is a little bit duo chrome-y. If i look at it real hard in some lights, i can see a little bit of purple trying to poke through. Some light it looked teal and some it looked like a dark turquoise and then sometimes it would have both. This is such an awesome colour, i LOVE Teals if you haven't already guessed by now! =) I don't know why i didn't try this colour sooner! As usual this was followed by one coat of Seche Vite quick dry. Sorry about the sheet marks. It didn't happen on my right hand lol

I then decided to further my mani with some stamping. I'm really enjoying getting back into doing more stamping. The first thing i thought of doing over this colour was some sort of fish design but i didn't have any plates with fish on it, so i found a "net" design (bundle monster plate BM-209) and went with that. Mind the index finger stamping, not sure why that happened. I stamped perfectly on every other nail, the image was perfectly clear on the stamp but oh well, the rest are awesome. You get the idea haha.

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend! Bring on Mondayitis! =(
Bye for now! Kel xo

Essence Where is the Party?

Today i have a quick one..Kind of. I'm supposed to have started to pack a few things for my trip to Melbourne this weekend. Instead i thought i'd blog haha.
I love that Essence is now stocked at Target. I have bought so many recently but i hadn't actually worn any yet, until now. I chose to wear Where is the Party? first. Who could resist wearing this one first.

This was a beaut to apply. It's a purple and olive green duo chrome. I had trouble capturing the green outdoors in the sun but captured it quite nicely in the shade for some reason. This was 2 easy coats topped with SV.

(All images are clickable to enlarge)

This is the first photo i've ever taken of my hands this way and i love what i captured here. Mind my index finger i'm having trouble with it breaking on the corners, It looks horrible.

Enjoy your Hump Day!
