Glitter me up Friday - Sinful Colors Cinderella.

Hi everyone!

So i am getting sucky at keeping up with glitter me Friday, so this will be my last one. I don't want to have to force myself to do a glitter mani each week. I just want to do it when i feel like doing it.
It was great seeing everyone else's glitter mani's too!

I am sure you have all seen this before but i have only had it in my hot little hands since last week! I did a swap with the lovely Becky from Naked Without Polish a couple of months ago. She had to send my package late as she was on holidays and other things got in the way. To make it up to me for her lateness, she stuffed so much polish into the box. I squee'd with excitement when it arrived last week. And of course it had to arrive the day we started "The Great Aussie Polish Challenge" lol so therefor i couldn't wear any until that was over. I was so excited to open the first little bundle of bubble wrap and discover this little beauty! O.. M..G! It was a lemming of mine for a while now and had considered a few times to sell my right arm for it! Yes it is a $2 bottle of polish that makes me want to sell body parts! lol

Cinderella is light blue with golden pinky shimmer through it. It awesome but that's where it stops! =( The formula was crap to say the least. I was a bit disappointed. It was patchy and a bit streaky to start with. I evened it out in the end but it took 3-4 coats. I don't know if i got a dud bottle or what but i wasn't happy! Maybe i should layer it over a light blue next time. Still beautiful though but i might not be getting this back out of the drawer for a while =(

The Great Aussie Polish Challenge & Glitter me up Friday - Peita's Polish Pop Rocks

Hi everyone!

Today i have Glitter me up Friday and The Great Aussie Polish Challenge all rolled into one.
I have an awesome polish to show you from an Aussie indie polish seller that i'm sure hasn't been shown on any blog before.

A few of us in the Aussie Challenge got the chance to have a sneak peak of her polish's before she released them and this one didn't have a name. She said whoever came up with a name for it got a free bottle. I quickly answered with "pop rocks" and everyone agreed. I couldn't wait to try it when it arrived in the mail and what better time to try it out!

This is Pop Rocks!

Pop Rocks is small blue square matte & pink even smaller glitter in a clear base. In the bottle it looks like it would build up but i don't think so. I haven't tried anyway. lol
This was one coat over three coats of Ulta3 Lemon Tart, no topcoat. Formula was awesome and easy to work with.

If you liked Pop Rocks it is available for purchase on her Etsy Shop for $9au. She does ship internationally too! She also has a Facebook page so check her out there too.

Glitter me up Friday - OPI My Pointe Exactly & Pirouette My Whistle

Hi everyone!

Another Friday has come and is almost gone..... which means it's the weekend!!! Yippee! O, It also means Glitter me up Friday. This is what i am wearing today!

Artificial Light

OPI My Pointe Exactly is a sheer grey jelly. This is from the OPI NYC Ballet Soft Shades collection, which is a bunch of sheers and a sparkly top coat. I am not big on sheer polishes but these seem to be really lovely and caught my eye. I only got this one and the sparkly top coat. I think i need the rest of the collection! I used 3 coats for photo's. No topcoat.

Shade

Artificial Light

I then added one coat of Pirouette My Whistle over My Pointe Exactly. PMW is big silver hex and micro glitter. Just beautiful.

Please check out everyone else in GMU Friday!

Glitter me up Friday - Indie brand Love Thy Polish review!

Hi everyone!
I have a combined post for you today. I have review on a fellow Aussie bloggers line of nail polish, Love Thy Polish. The awesome Emma from Nails in the Desert offered to send me a couple to review. This one fits in perfectly with Glitter me up Friday so i have combined them both today =).

This particular one is only new and doesn't actually have a name yet, so head on over to her Facebook page and make a suggestion as to what she could call it and also to check out her awesome polishes!

This has a green-blue jelly base with aqua and magenta small glitter. This was three coats alone. It was a quite sheer in the first coat but built up nicely by the third which i was (pleasantly) surprised. Application was good, a little runny to start with but was manageable. One coat of Seche vite on top.

I then thought i could try it over a few different colours. First i tried Black and then Blue.

Here this was one coat layered over my go-to one coater black, Ulta3 Black Satin. I didn't think of it until i put it together but it reminds me of Butter London The Black Knight.

And this time i have it layered (again one coat) over two coats of Ulta3 Blue Marlin.

I like how they came out on all of them. Which one is your favourite?
You can purchase this polish (and others) from Emma's Facebook page for $9/ 15ml bottle. She also ships internationally. So go check her out and tell her i sent you =)

Product sent to me for review

Glitter Me Up Friday - Savina Fireworks

Hi all!
I feel so slack lately! I'm so behind in this. I had it all ready to go and i just had to post it up last night but i didn't! So slack!

Anyway, onto yesterdays Glitter me up Friday post.

This was two thinnish coats of Savina Fireworks over two coats of Essence Raspberry Swirl. Fireworks has lots of small multi-coloured round glitter and sparse holo bar glitter. It was hard to get the bar glitter out of the bottle but there seems to be a lot in there.
I then also tried this over black. Everything works better over black haha

Rainbow Favourites Blue& Glitter me up Friday.

Hi all!
Sorry i missed yesterday's post on Rainbow favourites. It was supposed to be green. I did do a manicure and took pics but i never got the chance to put them up. I will skip the green one and follow on with today's mani as it ties in with Rainbow Fav's and Glitter me up Friday. I totally thought ahead for this hahaha. I will pop in the green post either tomorrow or at the end. I'm all over the place, i dunno! I can never keep to any plan. hahaha

Anyone, onto today's Rainbow fav's and Glitter me up Friday. Today's colour is Blue!

Sally Hansen Blazing Blue.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Blazing Blue is a dark navy blue with a beautiful sapphire blue shimmer through it. When you can see the shimmer it looks amazing! This was two coats. You may get away with one coat depending on how you apply it. I'm not a big fan of the brush that comes with these bottles, they are so weird and i don't think they work that well for me. No top coat applied.

I then decided it wasn't enough glitter for Glitter me up Friday! haha
I added one coat of Nicole OPI Me + Blue which has small sparse holo glitter and even smaller silver glitter. I think i prefer it without but i wanted to add something. Not my finest work. Again no topcoat. I feel i really rushed myself to come up with something and forgot clean up too! =( Sorry about the weird positioning of my fingers. Those bottles are weird to hold!

Glitter me up Friday - A Funky Dunkey Mad as a Hatter

Hi all!
It's Glitter me up Friday time! It has been a chilly day here in South Australia today! Did i tell you i hate winter? lol I'm sitting here in 5 degree weather with frozen fingers so please excuse any typo's that may arise!

So this is my GMU Friday mani this week.

I used two coats of OPI Funky Dunkey which is a darkish purple cream. A lot darker on the nail than in the bottle. This was the first time i had used this colour. I got this colour in an online order by mistake like a year or two ago and opted to keep/buy it rather than waste more money returning it. It's actually a really nice colour and i love it. The formula was awesome and easy to apply.
I added the hard to find OPI Mad as a Hatter over the top. I tried to do a gradient type thing with the glitter with more at the top and getting less as it goes down but i kinda failed? I don't know! It's not what i had in my head but i think my nails are shorter than needed to how i imagined it would turn out or just "heavy handed" with placing MAAH. Then it was all topped off with one coat of Seche Vite.

Hope you enjoyed this weeks Glitter Friday, pleas check out the other girls participating.

Glitter me up Friday! China Glaze Riveting

Hi all!

Sorry this is a day late again. I just didn't get time to do it yesterday. My nails are also so buggered at the moment so you will see nubbins. =(

This is China Glaze Riveting. It is part of China Glaze's 2012 Capitol Colours (Hunger Games) collection.

China Glaze Riveting is bright orange jelly with an intense gold shimmer. This is an awesome colour which i was in two minds of getting but i'm glad i did. This was two coats and one coat of Seche Vite.

Glitter me up Friday #4 - Cover Band Sticks and Stones over OPI Fly

Hi all!

I can't believe it's Friday again! So i have another Glitter me up Friday post for you! I'm really excited about this one and have been dreaming about wearing this combo all week, since my replacement bottle of SnS's arrived =). I won't bore you too much, i have a few more photos than normal. I really couldn't decide on what ones to put in. I narrowed it down to 5.

This is one coat of Cover Band's Sticks 'n Stones over two coats of OPI Fly. Fly is Teal Blue. Nice and opaque in two coats even though the formula was on the runny side. S'nS is quite thick. This was one coat even though you have to move your brush around a bit to try and get the bits where you want it. All topped off with one coat of Seche Vite.
Enjoy the rest of the pictures.

Let me know in the comments below if you own this and if you love it as much as i do =)

Glitter Me Up Friday #3 - Color Club Untamed Luxury

It's Glitter me up Friday again!! I'm really liking this theme. I get excited to choose what to wear and knowing that it has to be a glitter really cuts down on the choices haha.

Today's GMUP is from Colour Club. It's Untamed Luxury from their 2010 Untamed Luxury collection (and i had to look that up... derp!)

Untamed Luxury is a teal green jelly with green and blue teal glitter. It also has scattered holo glitter but it's quite sparse which is actually really nice. It was a bit hard to capture what i wanted but it's more green in real life and very sparkly. It's a little sheer though. This was three coats for photos and you can still see my nail line, though i couldn't notice VNL unless i was in the sun. Topped with one coat of Seche Vite quick dry.

Blurry pic of holoness. Looks awesome.

Glitter Me Up Friday #2 - China Glaze Marry A Millionaire

Glitter me up friday.... on a Saturday! lol I did wear this and take photos yesterday but i got my braces put on Wednesday and since then my teeth and mouth have been really sore (which is to be expected) but I've got a million ulcers inside my lips and cheeks from the rubbing and the wax does somewhat help but it's painful so once i had gotten home from work, ate dinner (mashed potato) i really didn't feel like doing anything else, so i went to bed. So i bring you yesterdays GMUF post.

I'm not a big fan of 4 or 5 coats of glitter polish to make it opaque. I'm not a big fan of glitter polishes anyway but i do love glitter so the way i like to do it is to layer it over a creme polish.

Base colour is China Glaze Spontaneous. Two coats. Then one thickish coat of China Glaze Marry A Millionaire. One coat of Seche Vite quick dry. I really like how it turned out. I wish i had gotten better photos in the sun.

MAM has small round lavender glitter along with bar glitter, which is most dominant, in blue/green and green/gold. I can't tell if the blue/green is teal or if it a duo chrome type thing going on. Very cool though. =)

Glitter Me Up Friday - Butter London The Black Knight

Hi everyone!
Not sure if most people noticed but i don't do a lot of glitter mani's on my blog. I can't stand the removal aspect of it most of the time so i steer clear. I do want force myself into doing more glitter so i've decided to join in the Glitter Me Up Friday gang. A fellow Aussie blogger Shaina from SG Nails (please check her out, she's new and awesome!) came up with the idea and there are a few others doing it too. The others had started a few weeks ago but i'm late to the table and this will be my first one. =)

Today's GMUF is Butter London The Black Knight!

The Black Knight has a black base colour with tiny bits of glitter consisting of mainly light blue and pink. There also looks to be a little silver in there too. My bottle was a little on the thick side but still needed three coats for full opacity. One coat of SV quick dry followed. Enough of the talk, enjoy the rest of the pics!
