The Great Aussie Polish Challenge Day 6: Australis Flip Flops

Hi everyone.
Back for the second last Great Aussie Polish Challenge post. I have done well so far i think lol. I don't normally last a full challenge, maybe because it is just one week, not sure.
Anyway, onto today's post.

This is Australis Flip Flops.

Flip Flops is blue with light blue/turquoise micro glitter scattered through it. Awesome summer polish (even though it's winter here lol). Application was good and this was two coats, no topcoat.

Not sure why Australis decided to call this Flip Flops. Here in Australia we call Flip Flops, Thongs. Thongs would sound weird as a name for a polish but Flip Flops are so un-Australian! Derp! 

I then decided to use my new Bundle Monster stamping plates and knew i had seen a thong design in there somewhere. This was Bundle Monster plate BM-309 and i used my go to one coater white Aussie brand polish, Ulta3 Lily White.
I did in the end top it all off with one coat of Seche Vite QD.

Haulage time! - May. Part 1

Hi all!

Some of you may know that for the month of May i was on a no-buy. Even though i said i wasn't going to buy anything *cough* i was still waiting on nail mail to arrive in the month of May but purchased in April. I wanted to keep them for my "May" haul so at least i'd have a haul post for this month.

Well, i will tell you it started out awesome but then went downhill half way through. It all started with the Ozotics 500 series going by by soon so i bought a few. I'm still waiting on my package and hoping it arrives today. So, in saying that, i am actually going to break this haul up into two parts. Not only am i waiting on that package but i have 2-3 more coming. No-buy this month went awesome! /end sarcasm lol.

I got these revlon's from the Catch of the Day website. They were free but you just pay postage ($4-95 for each, so came to a total of $14-85)

Priceline had OPI Shatters for 9.95 so i picked up this one.

I won a giveaway from Mel over at nail and polish at the start of the month and this is what i got.

This was another lot of polish i ordered in April and got in May from Ninja Polish. I wanted to put it up earlier but i also bought Cover Band's Sticks n' Stones but it broke and leaked all over one of the polishes. I was waiting on now have a replacement bottle but took this photo without it.

I went to Terry White Chemist last week and found a newish brand? called "you" The colours look amazing so i bought a few to try them out. (Australis i got from Kmart)

So that was part 1 of my haul. As i pointed out i'm still waiting on a few packages and really want to add them to this haul and i don't like waiting a whole month to show them lol

NOTD: A Speck-tacular matte Spring Break!

I finally picked up Australis Speck-tacular a few weeks ago when i was shopping. I found it at priceline and it was the last one they had in stock at that time so i snatched it pretty quick. It cost me $8-95 which was a fair price. They also have a black shatter/crackle polish too which i didn't pick up as i already have OPI's Black shatter and i do not think it is necessary to have more than one black shatter. I have also seen it stocked at Target. I did notice at Myer, Chi Chi have a crystal top coat which looks the same as Speck-tacular. I wonder if it's a dupe. Again i didn't buy it because of that reason.

Anyway, i have been playing around with Speck-tacular on a nail wheel with trying different colours to see what works with it and what doesn't. We all know it looks "specktacular" (haha) over black so i won't be showing that today. It does stand out more over darker colours than lighter colours but that doesn't mean it doesn't look nice still. So after playing around i decided that my favourite at the time was a darker purple.

I started with 2 coats of Ulta3 Spring Break. Then 2 coats of Australis Speck-tacular flakie top coat. No fast drying top coat.

Then i decided to do what anyone else would do. Matte-ify it! I added one coat of Essie Matte about you. I really like how this turned out and am in love with Speck-tacular. I will be picking up another bottle or two soon! I have gone through quite a bit since i got it haha.
