I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas with friends, family & loved ones.

I am now on 3 and a half weeks holidays. Yaaaaay! Unfortunately i wasn't organised enough to have some blog posts scheduled to go up while i will be away visiting family interstate and having a proper holiday, so the blog is now on holidays too.

Aussie nails Monday - Sponging.

Hi everyone!!
Aussie nails Monday again! These weeks are flying by!

This week's nail art is sponging!

This is my second ever sponging attempt. I haven't mastered it yet but i'm fairly happy with how it came out.

Here is my "Toffee Apple" nails!

I used Ulta3 Lily White as my base colour. Then used a make-up sponge and sponged on Ulta3 Sizzling Red, Kiwi Kaos & Lily White. Topped with one coat of Seche Vite QD.
I hate how the middle finger came out but my pinky finger is my favourite!!
Everytime i looked at them they reminded me of Toffee Apples. I didn't even have it set in my mind to make it like that, but as soon as i had finished doing them, it was the first thing that popped into my head. =)

piCture pOlish - Glitter Ball

Hi all!
I loved my previous Sally Hansen Red Carpet mani so much i decided to add to it rather than take it off!
I decided to do something a little christmas-y and add some glitter.

I used one coat of Picture Polish's Glitter Ball over the top of the existing SH Red Carpet.

Sally Hansen Red Carpet

Hi all!

I don't usually wear a lot of reds but i got this polish in a grab bag from an awesome fellow Aussie blogger Tara over at Osirisandlokipainttheirnails
I looked at it and thought it had an awesome sparkle in it. I had a plan to use this in another way (that way coming soon) but I had the urge to wear it straight away!
Now that i've worn it, i'm keeping it and now searching for a back-up bottle lol.

What do you think? Are you a lover of red polishes?

Aussie Nails Monday - Delicate

Hi all!
Back for another round of Aussie nails Monday!! This weeks challenge was Delicate.
When i saw that it was delicate, i racked my brain trying to think of something to come up with. I always think of lace-y type doily things lol. I did a quick google search and it wasn't as bad as i had thought.

This is what i eventually came up with.

I used two coats of Ulta3's Pale Dahlia as a base colour.  I then used my Konad white polish and Bundlemonster stamping plate BM-310 for the design. It wasn't 100% perfect but i'm really happy with how this came out =) I haven't stamped for a while so it was nice to get my stamping stuff out again. I really need to do more stamping.

KBShimmer Glowstick

Hi all!
A quick one today as i run out the door for work, Urgh!! This part of the week is always the busiest for me and i always seem to fail in blogging this side of Wednesday lol

I have my first (and only at the moment) KBShimmer polish. I bought Glowstick a couple of months ago from a blog sale.

Glowstick is a sheer neon yellow with lots of holographic glitter including hex's, bars & stars. The stars look like they are curled but they're not. They lie flat but my nails are curved so they stick up. Boo!
What i didn't realise, was this is glow in the dark lol. Umm derh! It's called Glowstick, Kelly! Of course it's glow in the dark. As i was oblivious to this, there is no glow photo =(
This was three coats and one coat of SV.

Aussie Nails Monday - Saran wrap/cling wrap nails

I can't believe it's Monday again!! After skipping last Aussie nails Monday due to being sick, i thought i had better not miss this one and get my act together and start blogging again lol

Today, i bring you Saran wrap nails. Also known as Cling wrap or Glad wrap nails.

I used these two colours for today's mani.

I applied my base colour of Ulta3 Soft Hydrangea, and let it completely dry. I actually did the base colour last night and let it dry overnight as i can be pretty impatient lol
I then used my second colour, Lilac Bloom and gave it one generous coat. One nail at a time i dabbed a ball of Glad wrap over the wet polish to pick up some of the colour.

Although it is very subtle, i really like this for my first attempt.

What do you think??

Aussie Nails Monday - Loki's Lacquer Smashing Jack!

Hi everyone!!
It's Aussie nails Monday again!! Wow, that week went quick! I actually have felt like crap all week, i burnt my tongue and throat on my hot chocolate last tuesday morning (yes, i really am that stupid sometimes) and have had a sore throat since, then my body decided it was time to get sick since i haven't been sick in almost two years... i was on a good run there! lol So almost over this damn cold and i will be all good but for today, i have had to find a past mani from one my folders. So sorry about that plus this mani was well overdue!

This weeks theme is "Glitter"

My dear Aussie Nails friend and polish maker Tara from Osirisandlokipainttheirnails made this special polish for me. I told her what i want in it and she made it! I also named it and she decided to then sell it on her etsy shop =)

Smashing Jack has large and small black and orange hex's, small white squares and yellow gold bar glitters. The bar glitter in it is very sparse (which is what i wanted) and hard to see against my yellow base colour. The base colour is Ulta3 Honolulu, which was three coats. One coat of SJ.
I love this colour and am considering buying it in a full sized bottle!

Thanks Tara for creating an awesome polish!!!

World Diabetes Day mani - Essence It's Two Bright

Hi all!
Today is world Diabetes Day. This is the mani i wore.

This is Essence It's Two Bright

Nothing too exciting just a simple blue mani. A bright blue with a  jelly like finish. This was two coats and you can still see a tiny bit of VNL. Not so apparent in real life.

I then added the other end of the stick, the yellow/pink duochrome sparkly top coat. This was two coats but i wish i had just left it to one coat, it looked so much better!

Face of Australia Pastels collection: Swatches and review

Hi all!

Summer has hit Australia hard over the last few days..... well where i am anyway, not that i am complaining because i love the warm/hot weather, but it means i am late in posting these awesome polishes that were great for the Spring weather, not that we can't wear them still but i'm so looking forward to wearing more bright colours!!

As soon as i saw that Face of Australia had released a Pastel collection, i was all over that shit. I raced out to Kmart and bought the whole set. The pastels collection consists of 8 polishes, 6 cremes, 1pearl and 1 shimmer.... that's right, bet you didn't think there was a shimmer in there! But don't get too excited, it's so faint it's barely noticeable.

Anyway, onto the swatches...... Pic heavy i might add =)
These are in alphabetical order as that is what my computer decides to do...

After Dinner Mint - A pastel mint green. I love mint greens and this is no exception! Perfect in two coats.

Boy 'n Berries - A Lavender pastel. Two coats.

Castles On A Cloud - Lilac-grey Pastel.... with shimmer. This is the one with shimmer. In the light it is noticeable in the bottle but once on the nail, it just seemed to disappear! Click the images to make large and you can see it slightly. This was two coats.

Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy - A bright?? pastel Yellow. If you can even have a bright pastel.... This is it. Probably my favourite yellow colour to date!! Wasn't the easiest to apply, just like a lot of yellows but this yellow is awesome and i can see myself wearing it alot! This was three coats.

Have Your Cupcake & Eat It Too - Lilac Pink pastel. This is also one of my favourites. This was two coats.

I'll Take You to the Candy Shop - My least favourite colour from the collection. Very soft pearly pink. Not really as streaky IRL as the pics show. This was three coats.

Once in a Blue Moon - Soft Eggshell Blue. Awesome colour. Two coats.

Would you like some Orange Sherbet? My second least favourite from the collection. I was really on a good streak with oranges until i hit this one! It's not bad but i'm not sure i like it with my skin tone. This was three coats.

Overall, I'm so so on this collection There are 5 i absolutely love and will wear again but the other 3 i don't like. I can live with that though, we can't like everything. I was disappointed with Castle on a Cloud as i really thought that would stand out the most to me with that awesome shimmer but it just wasn't there =( I think that disappointed the colour full stop for me as it looks awesome in the bottle.
My picks: After Dinner Mint, Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy, Boy 'n Berries, Once in a Blue Moon & Have your Cupcake & Eat It Too.

These were NOT sent for review. I paid for these myself.
