I'm still not over....

Crackle polishes! Well.... I'm not into them as much as when they first came out but i am definitely not over them yet!
I went to V8 Supercars (Clipsal 500) here in Adelaide over the weekend. As a lot of you know i'm a car freak and love Fords! I came up with this really quick mani i did on the friday night before and wore it all weekend and Monday too!

Left hand - outside shade

I used 3 coats of Orly Royal Navy (unshaken) which is almost the perfect Ford blue (again, when it's unshaken with all the sparkly bits sitting at the bottom of the bottle) I waited for it to completely dry then added one coat of China Glaze Lightning Bolt. Topped with one coat of SV.
I'm really happy with how it turned out and i love just watching how and where it cracks and when there are big bits of the underneath colour showing through. It's just so fascinating to me.

Right Hand - Artificial Light

Do you still like the crackle/shatter effect or are you over it?

See you soon! xo

Shattered Turquoise!

I finally got hold of the Essie Resort 2010 Collection. This is the first one i'll show from the collection. I'm sure you've all seen them on other blogs etc seeing as it IS the 2010 collection haha but i don't care, this is my blog! haha.

This is Essie's Turquoise & Caicos. This is my first Essie and i love it! It applied well. This was 3 Coats.

After wearing this yesterday, I added Silver Shatter last night before going to bed.

I personally love the shatters and i am not over them yet. I just received my blue & Turquoise shatter and am yet to play around with them. I also want the China Glaze Metal shatters too but am yet to own any.
What do you think of the shatters? Do you own any? Whats your favourite combination?

Bye for now

Massive haul! (pic heavy)

I got these from an eBay seller that doesn't really sell a lot on eBay anymore. I just emailed them my wish list and they tell me out of that, what is in stock and what isn't. I then send my final list to them and they sent me a PayPal invoice. Pretty easy! The polishes are a little bit dearer than the likes of nailetc and some other ebay sellers but you do get FREE, FAST worldwide shipping! Well, as long as you buy 10 or more polishes. One (out of 27) did break in transit so they sent out a new one straight away.  It took just over one week to get to me and one week exactly to get the replacement bottle. It was the first time i bought from them and i'm definitely happy and i would buy from them again! Anyway, on to the polishes!
I had a crappy time trying to photograph these polishes, i have no photography skills whatsoever! and a crappy camera, in fact, in the end these were taken on my iPhone, along with taking these when the sun was going down! So sorry in advance!

Wow, that was all of them! I haven't had much of a play around with them yet but i can't wait to use them! I'm also still waiting on more polishes to come. Yes, more! haha
If anyone wants details on the eBay seller just sent me an email. Also, just letting you all know, I bought these with my own money and i am not affiliated with this company. I just wanted to let you all in on this awesome seller and i'll be buying from them again in the future.

Enjoy the rest of your day,
Bye for now! xo

Wicked Mani!

I love love love this mani i did the other day and i am jealous i didn't come up with it!  My co-worker gets her nails done at a salon and came into work the next day and said "see, i got crackle like you've got!"
She had white as a base, purple crackle and holo glitter on top (which looked like OPI's Servin' up sparkle from the Serena Williams collection, but i i couldn't ask her, she wouldn't have the slightest clue haha)

I didn't have the purple shatter "fault line" from China Glaze or the OPI serena one so i changed it up a bit, which is a nice idea anyway as i didn't want to fully copy her.
This was 9 coats of polish all up! wow!

Base coat: OPI Nail Envy Original for strengthening (from having acrylics previously)
2nd coat: Revitanail Ridge Filler (again from having acrylics, and where a few nails have peeled at the tips) this really helps.
3rd, 4th, 5th coats - 3 Coats of China Glaze's c-c-courage (a bluey- purple with purple and silver microshimmer)
6th coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top coat (supposed to be anti-chip but meh)
7th coat: China Glaze white crackle in Lightening Bolt
8th coat: China Glaze Fairy Dust
9th coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top coat

I find it very useful to use a coat of fast drying topcoat between the base colour and the crackle colour, one, it dries fast so you don't have to wait, and then especially if the crackle is white or lighter colours. I find it doesn't "soak" up any base colour when you put your crackle down. It keeps your base colour the way it's mean't to be and then, in my case, it keeps the white white and bright and doesn't have that purple tone to it.

Blurry to show effects of fairy dust.

Hope you all like this as much as i do, i'm not taking it off anytime soon haha
Enjoy your day!
