Interlocking nail art

Hi all!

I have some nail art for you all today! I haven't done any nail art in a while and i was excited to finally try this. I have seen this around the nail blogging scene a few times now and I love how it came out. I will definitely be doing variations of this in the future.

I used two colours from the "You" cosmetics brand which you can find in most Terry White Chemists here in Australia, they retail for $2.99 each. I picked up a few to try and am definitely heading back for more. They have an awesome formula and opaque in two coats. You could get away with one coat of the purple if your lucky (i used two) Unfortunately these don't have names, just numbers. The Purple is Shade 002 and the Teal is 005.

I started with alternating the colours on each finger, like in the swatch picture above. I waited until it was fully dry (i actually did this the night before as i am impatient haha) I then used tape, any kind is fine and taped off my nails diagonally from one corner to the next in the top part. I used the other colour and painted the rest of each nail (two coats again), peeling off the tape straight after the second coat. I then got out my dotting tool and using one of the big "dots" i dotted one colour on the joining line, about the same sized dot apart, then used the other colour on the other side of the line in-between the gaps. I hope that all makes sense. Let dry for a few minutes and then i added one coat of Seche Vite quick dry.
Next time i try this i will try and make a tutorial for it =)

Excuse my crappy dry cuticles in this awful winter weather.

Hope you enjoy! What colour combination would you like to see next?

See you soon!

  5. That's such an awesome idea. Seeing the only nail art I can do is use the dotter I'll have to try it out. The only question is will I be able to do it? Eeks may take a couple weeks of frustration. I'd love if you could do a tutorial. It'll help us beginners out ;o)
