Arggh! me hearties, here be treasure!

I finally got my hands on the OPI - Pirates of the Caribbean Collection. I know you've seen swatches on many other blogs but i just felt like doing it myself!

L to R- Skull & Glossbones, Stranger Tides, Steady as she Rose,
Sparrow me the drama, Planks a lot, Mermaids Tears & Silver Shatter.

No. 1- Skull & Glossbones - Pale grey creme, A bit splotchy to start with but evened out in the end. 3 Coats, No Topcoat. Then with Silver Shatter, also no Topcoat.

No. 2- Stranger Tides - A murky greyish-green creme. Again a bit splotchy then evened itself out. 3 Coats, No Topcoat. Then with Silver Shatter, also no Topcoat.

Sorry this ones a bit blurry!
No. 3 - Steady as she Rose - A very pale lavender pink creme. Its more lavender than pink IRL than what the picture is showing. 3 Coats, No Topcoat. Then with Silver Shatter, also no Topcoat.

No. 4 - Sparrow me the drama - A dusty Pink creme. Not as bright as what the pic is showing. I'm sure this was 2 Coats, No Topcoat. Then with Silver Shatter, also no Topcoat.

No.5 - Planks a lot - A darkish Lavender creme. Pretty straight forward! 2 Coats, No Topcoat. Then Silver Shatter, also no Topcoat.

No.6 - Mermaids Tears - My favourite of them all and the colour i was going to get from the collection, no matter what! A dusty Turquoise creme. 2 Coats, No Topcoat. Then Silver Shatter, also no Topcoat.

My definite favourites are Sparrow me the drama, Planks a lot, Mermaids Tears and of course the Silver Shatter!
Do you have the collection? Which is your favourite?
Enjoy your week!

  1. This collection just isn't doing it for me, though I can see why others like the colours and i'm really not loving the shattered look. I just don't think soft shades are very piratey. This is good, OPI is way too expensive! However this comes from a self professed glitter hoe.... give me some more sparkle OPI!! :P

  2. I agree with the soft shades being not very piratey! When i first heard about it, i was thinking blacks, browns, rich dark reds possibly a blue but in saying that, I think Mermaids Tears, Skull & Glossbones fits well and somewhat sparrow me the drama (just cause i like the colour haha). OPI is only expensive if you buy it from DJ's or anywhere else in AUS for that matter! haha I try and buy overseas. I know it's politically a no no but who gives a stuff when i can get a bottle of OPI for around $6 plus less than $1-50 shipping (per bottle) if i buy a fair amount, which i do anyway.
If you love Glitters, you might like the upcoming Muppets collection from OPI coming out near the end of the year (i think)

  3. Yes! I cannot wait for the Muppets collection, they look so awesome! There is this one supply store i've visited that sells OPI for $13 a bottle, but it's like a 2 hour drive round trip. I'm not really comfortable with using ebay just yet, and I find too many polishes I like without going online :P

  5. Cincly, I love ebay! But yes if you ever go on there and just "have a look", your purse will never recover!

Kelly, I love planks a lot too! I'm not usually a big fan of purples but this is probably one of my favourite purples! I'm glad i got it! Definitely get Mermaids Tears! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! My favourite from the collection. I wasn't going to get the whole collection either but i couldn't decided what i wanted. So i just thought, What the hell, get them all. and i got them off ebay for a decent price too!
